Scunthorpe in green and white, at least that doesn't trigger nightmare flashbacks of Wembley 1999

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss 0-1

No pressure in CM, worked an easy chance. Corner. Not cleared, falls to edge of the box, loads of time to shoot. Top corner. Same old.

Its a worry when your midfield screener is Craig Clay who has all the backbone of a plate of jelly.

Dennis is a winger who wants to be a striker, he needs to play on the wing

Marginally better, Harrold holds up well, Dennis beats a few men, out to JMD who puts in a dangerous inswing cross. Keeper palms it away then some last ditch blocks by Scunthorpe defence.

Clay is playing as though he doesn't want the ball.

I don't think I've seen any mention at all of James Brophy. Has he done anything yet?

Had one run in that buildup I posted above, otherwise anonymous.

Tactics seem to be get the ball to JMD to whip in from the right whilst leaving a large CM-shaped hole in front of the defence for Scunthorpe to do what they like with.

Edit: Brophy just had a strike from edge of box, straight at keeper who pawed it away

One last-ditch challenge away from being 0-2. Fantastic ball length of the pitch from Scunthorpe RB to their forward. Held it up found the overlap down line, squares but Coulson (?) gets just in front of incoming player to prevent a tap-in.

The difference in intensity between their midfield and ours is so clear to see. Their #30 just ran 20+ yards on a sprint to get out to Clay and force us to go backwards. We let them get the ball, turn and waltz through with ease.

Poor 1st half. A few decent crosses from JMD, but apart from that we have created almost nothing.

Scunny are not much better.

Bring on Angol. Now.

HT 0-1, lucky to be going in only one goal down. Scunthorpe look fitter, faster and want it more. Another game where at best it'll be a 45-minute performance.

Without Angol or Wilkinson on the pitch we’re virtually playing without any strikers and it shows

Hard to see from back of East, thanks for the assist Fortunate One ;)

Early goal for O's disallowed, Harrold nods in after a reflex save by Scunthorpe keeper to deny the initial headed effort.
