Has a manager been more disliked after 5 games?
I didn’t think it was possible for a new manager to be this disliked after 5 games in charge!?
- I can see some being disliked by fans for their handling of the media but results might be okay.
- I can also see some being disliked by fans for their results but liked for their passion and willingness to accept their errors in the media.
- I can also see some being disliked by playing staff early on.
Carl Fletcher seems to be have all three in the bag within 5 games. Awful results, awful rapport with the fans and it now seems a questionable relationship with the players.
Anger aside about today and how he’s started so far but surely, just surely, the upper echelons at Orient must be genuinely alarmed that he’s managed to create all three of the above in 5 games.
With a balanced view, how long would you give him to turn this around?
My patience has shortened to the point that if we loose the next 3 games he should be gone!

I've never known a manager to appear so unenthusiastic in his new role. Not a way to endear yourself to fans and can't imagine it's gone down much better with the players.

Emerging pattern of people not wanting crap managers in charge
Fletcher I wanted to give every chance but the more he works with the team the worse the results are getting.

Weren't moaning when we had a winning mentality and actually achieved something for the first time since 2006. Now the club is turning back into a bunch of losers.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 5:25 pmGshaw you find something to moan about even if Orient are doing well go and join poundshop and byways at the WMC
May as well get Hearn out to give us a talk about how "little Leyton Orient" shouldn't expect to beat a great side like Maldon and Tiptree

Re: Has a manager been more disliked after 5 games?
Wining over the fans is absolutely vital. If things get a bit rough (as they always do) you need the fans on side. Fletch has done absolutely nothing to get the fans on side and by the looks of the team he's done nothing to get the player's on side either. When JE took over the feelgood factor returned almost immediately and the fans were on side on the back of that. Fletcher is an uninspiring and insipid media performer hasn't undertaken a charm offensive at all which means our god awful performances go down like a fart in a lift.
He's got to lift the place and in double quick time, if he doesn't then his authority with the player's will evaporate, performances will continue to slide and the board will have to make a decision. There's no way around this. He needs to come out and come out strong.

TBH, if I was Nigel or Kent I would be very concerned . In public I would say all the right things in support of him but carry on in the way we are and I would pull the trigger before ChristmasHorient wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 5:05 pm I didn’t think it was possible for a new manager to be this disliked after 5 games in charge!?

Re: Has a manager been more disliked after 5 games?
I hate to sound like a grieving soul but to me it is still obvious that the players have not got over the loss of Justin. In less than six months they have lost there leader, there inspiration and there guiding light. Players and others from outside Orient shed light on what type of person he was and how many football careers did he put back on the right path. When he spoke and converted people into his phylosophy, they became believers and as a band of brothers would achieve success. Not seeing him or hearing his voice and leadership, has left them without the person that they as grown men worshipped. Whether you was a experienced senior pro or a young 17/18 year old boy he was your father figure. Thinking about it now Ross was probably a outstanding appointment, as the players felt he was family and indifferent results and performances should have been expected. Carl Fletcher has been brought in as Manager to work with staff he does not know and to try to implore the style of play he wants. Carl to Justin in terms of leadership and personality seems to be like chalk and cheese. It's not neccessarily Carls fault but more a case of a stranger coming into your house and trying to change things when dad a person we all loved has just passed away. If he does get sacked, keep the new appointment in-house until the end ofseason. Will probably help this current group of players. If then a new manager comes in he should be entitled to bring his own staff and sign new fresh players. I was never 100% sure of Ross but i can now see where this current group of players are struggling to come to terms with a tragic situation.

I understand the point you'e making and that's why when Ross stepped down I was calling for Russell Slade . IMO, Russell has the bubbly type of personality and experience we were crying out for to see the club through this moment in time .AckneyAwks wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 6:16 pm I hate to sound like a grieving soul but to me it is still obvious that the players have not got over the loss of Justin. One has to wonder about the man's thinking when at home he plays just 1 striker up front? Understandable away but not at home especially against a team 4 leagues below. And why oh why send out Ruel Sotiriou when we have 2 forwards on the injury list?

The last Welshman we had in charge wasn't very inspiring either, as I remember.

Your persecution of Hendon was a disgrace. Even Kofi Annan was concerned.
