Maldon and Tiptree

What a fantastic achievement for them. What’s the gap between us, 4 divisions? What are their players on, £100 a game? Yet for large parts you couldn’t tell which was the professional side and which the rank amateurs. All because of their commitment and desire.
Not only that, they also played some decent stuff. Make no mistake, they fully deserved that win today.

Good luck to them in the next round

Fitness has been poor all season, that's one of the questions the board should be asking of the staff

Redo better players at that level are on approx £200 a week.

Obviously varies wildly but point remains.

Agreed redo, I said yesterday or the day before our youth team should have been able to deal with them.

I could have got 10 of my mates who all played at their level and better, even though we are all in our 40’s our pride would not have let that happen to us, we might not be as fit as we once were, we might be slower, we might be more rotund than we once were, but boy we would never lay down like that.

Thoroughly deserved their win today. And good luck to them in the next round. As for us..out of our outfield starters only Dan Happe looked anything like the standard we should be expecting from full time professionals. As for the rest, and I'm giving Sarge and Dayton a pass here,it's either one or both of two things.
Lack of ability or lack of desire...feel free to compile your own lists.
The question now is..does Carl Fletcher have what it takes to address these problems?
I'm not sure he does.

Well done Maldon and Tiptree on a great result. You outplayed us for much of the game. You had the drive, the belief , the determination and fantastic fans. The only thing we had today were the fans willing on a clueless lacklustre disinterested and unmotivated team.
No point blaming players or manager for one poor performance but we have had too many this season and questions need answering before all the good work done by Nigel, Kent and Danny goes down the pan.
Saturday is a massive game, and whilst a result would be nice more importantly the team must be up for it and give 100% until the final whistle. Today was, frankly, an embarrassment.
I hope M&T get a good draw tomorrow and will in all probability go to round two to see them if at all possible. I hope many O’s fans will do the same and give them the support they deserve.

Heart, desire and commitment - three things that seem to be sadly lacking amongst a number of our players.😞

This is weird.

Can’t you just give them the congratulations and praise their performance today warranted?

It wasn’t just that, was it. They played some really decent stuff, not afraid to knock it about at the back and had some real quality up top.
