Sarge- 4. Should have done better with the second. Impressed by his distribution.
Ling- 4. Didn't do enough for the second.
Coulson- 3. Also culpable for the second.
Happe- 7. Only one who started who looked like they were playing for the proffesional side.
Widdowson- 4. Didn't do much offensively.
Clay- 1. Very poor today.
Wright- 1. Equally poor and should have scored.
JMD- 4. Looks lile he can't run. Talented but didn't impact the game as he should have.
Dennis- 1. What a poor signing he is looking right now. Offers absolutely nothing.
Brophy- 6. Looked dangerous second half.
Harrold- 2. Had no supply but didn't get involved in the game either.
Dayton- 7. Made an impact and scored a good goal. We really could do without him being injured.
Alabi- 3. Didn't affect the game and had a shot well blocked.
Gorman- 3. Didn't affect the game.
Something is clearly wrong. Many will point to the manager but to me it works both ways. I think we need a clear out of the squad. I don't know if many are suffering from the events of the summer, but they don't look the same players, even allowing for a step up.
I'd look to keep Happe, Brophy, Dayton, Angol and Wilkinson and the younger lads. The rest of the senior players can go.
We will always love Justin for what he did, but I feel to properly move on we need more of a clean break.

How many more games does Clay get before he gets dropped? Been poor all season yet always gets his starting spot back by default. Play Marsh or send him back.
CM has been a constant problem for us due to poor recruitment, Ling the constant in that.
January transfer window will be massive but we've lost £36k prize money today, the gate receipts from next game plus whatever we could've got had we made it to 3rd round. More likely to have to sell to cover the losses now than bringing much-needed quality in.

Clay was dropped for a run of games earlier in the season.

I wouldn’t be getting annoyed at Clay, even though he has some poor games he at least has a bit of heart and puts himself about. Useless fucks like Dennis couldn’t care less, and amble about bottling challenges.

Watch the replay for the second goal...

Fair play to Maldon, exposed our weaknesses and had a game plan.
I do think there isn't enough effective graft and dieectness in midfield, and a lack of pace defensively.
A perfect storm today. I would not have been surprised if a National League side knocked us out, but a side four divisions below is really something.
I don't think the board will want to lose face and admit they got it wrong so soon, but if we lose again next week and some of the bottom teams win it ain't gonna look good.
IMO it was always a bit arrogant to try and say we didn't need experience....we had three rookies on the coaching staff and we got another rookie to manage them. It's a gamble at best.

The lack of tempo at which the team play is a major weakness and has been there all season. Taking 3 or 4 touches before playing the ball ( often inaccurately) laterally or backwards is the trademark of a side devoid of confidence. Agree too about the Board and their reluctance to appoint someone with the necessary experience. I’m don’t necessarily agree it was arrogance but certainly misguided imo.

Either Fletcher goes or two or three of our players to make way for new ones . Something has got to change or we could well end up in relegation trouble at the end of the season .

Sarge 6. Came for crosses, great distribution, one great save to tip the ball over at 0-0. Dont think much he could do with either goal.
Ling 2. Absolutely awful. I’m sure we’ll be treated to the usual excuses that he’s carrying a knock or something but that was a woeful performance.
Widdowson 5. At least tried.
Coulson 4. Can accept him struggling for pace against L2 players but shouldn’t be happening against that level of opposition.
Happe 7. Best player on the pitch for us by a country mile.
Clay 3. I’ve really tried to defend him this season but I can’t anymore. 2nd best for the whole game, worst moment when he was just knocked over for their second goal.
Wright 3. I’m done with Mr Crab Arms too. Can’t have a luxury player like that in a team without a tackling midfielder.
JMD n/a. Not sure he was actually playing.
Brophy 5 better second half when he did start to use his pace against their tiring players.
Dennis n/a. Same as JMD.
Harold 4. Second best tovtheir centre halves all afternoon.
Dayton 4. Get warmed up before coming on you silly sausage.
Gorman and Alabi, whatever.

Ling will play next week as well, it don’t matter show sh*t he plays he still gets in the team in front of others, it’s a joke.
Wright has been poor, piss poor all season apart from his goals to which I tip my hat. But what does he contribute each game? He neither links up the play, or drives it forwards, it’s always sideways and backwards, but I agree he needs a strong player alongside him or behind him and he does not have that.
Clay has regressed that’s for sure and I don’t know why, I hope he comes good cos last season he was immense.

I would always try to defend Gorman: he is a neat footballer. Looks composed. Clay is clearly a confidence player more than most. Where do we go from here?

If Fletcher stays and nothing is done to stop this rot, we are at risk. However good quite a few of our players are.

The team was doing good with Gorman in the team. Why was he dropped? He appears to have been rested midweek probably to start today but as a few players done OK midweek, the manager appears to have changed his mind. Surely Ling isn't even match fit. Clay has struggled all season. Dennis has done nothing. No excuses loosing today. If a team works it's balls off and gives 100% it should be able to win games like today unless you have very bad luck. I'm ripping. Watching the draw will be a disaster.

Was very odd with Gorman. He had just got a bit of form going then immediately dropped for Clay, who has done nothing to deserve getting his starting spot back.
Seems a couple of favourites at the club are getting their positions based on reputation rather than form.
