There we have it boys and girls. Out in the first round to the football powerhouse that is Maldon & Tiptree. Fletch needs to pull his finger out sharpish because we are struggling and struggling badly.

How did a loan manager at Bournemouth who hasn't managed or coached anybody for six years get to be our manager in one step . ? We were crying out for an experienced manager and we didn't get one . Now we're starting to pay for it .

Re: f*cking disgraceful
Whilst I am eternally grateful for T&T for saving our club, they took a massive gamble on Fletcher and it does not look like it will pay off. Furthermore, it was grossly unfair of them to give the job to such an unqualified candidate. They didn't appreciate that there would be near unanimous disapproval of his appointment. I feel for Fletcher but then again, he really shouldn't have talked himself into the role.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 3:29 pmHow did a loan manager at Bournemouth who hasn't managed or coached anybody for six years get to be our manager in one step . ? I've been saying that since this mystery began. But I'm not going to go on about it because we are at a crucial point for the club and they need our support through a difficult period. Not relentless moaning and bleating.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 3:29 pmHow did a loan manager at Bournemouth who hasn't managed or coached anybody for six years get to be our manager in one step . ? Plus I don't want the club to shut down the MB again.

I've just watched the highlights ...if you can call it that . Bloody Hell, it was difficult to know which side was the professionals . Playing one up front against a team like Maldon and Tiptree , really ?. We're in trouble .Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2019 2:43 pm There we have it boys and girls. Re: f*cking disgraceful
I know mate, it was pretty grim viewing, wasn't it. Craig Clay needs to be dropped immediately after that display (I refuse to call it a performance). Two vital challenges he bottled, both lead to goals. Josh Coulson was awful although he was playing inexplicably high at times. When you've got a defender like him, basically an immobile lump, then you can't have him making recovery runs or trying to stick with a tricky or pacey forward who can go either inside or outside. Poor old Josh got turned inside out. There's no spine to this side. We don't keep the ball up top, we can't win the ball in central midfield or protect the back four and our central defenders can't defend peddling backwards or movement into the channels. Its just an absolute state.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 12:58 pmI've just watched the highlights ...if you can call it that . Re: f*cking disgraceful
In one of his interviews CF talked about intensity, what ever that is, but also a system that doesn’t rely on strikers for goals, but from a number of players. I read onto that he favours a 451 system. Maybe a 4321 system. One up front
So that’s what I expect, one up front at home against average opposition. I almost pine for 352.
Text book stuff, better left in the text book.

Re: f*cking disgraceful
What do boarders think would be worst:
- Make us a laughing stock by getting rid of Fletcher after 5 games (especially bearing in mind the Bechetti era
- Being relegated back to the National League after 1 season
I thought he was a bad choice when he was appointed, but can't make up my mind whether I want to revert to the short termism of the previous regime or try and stick with it, even at huge cost.

after a few dodgy results
( against 4 out of the top 5 mind you)
Then 3 wins & a draw after hed resigned as interim.
If Fletcher scrambles a couple of league wins on the bounce , we could go mental & turn it into 9 out of 10 wins.
I'M stating the bleedin obvious , thats the beauty of Football.

The new guy has inherited a squad of players most of whom aren't up to it. They only just got us over the line in the NL with a style of football that, given the limitations in key areas, was necessary but made your brain bleed.
JE has to take credit for making the best from a poor squad. I'm sure he knew the task ahead was to make substantial changes but sadly he is not around to do it.
The club made a major error in appointing an interim manager given the enormity of the task in hand.
They may have compounded that error with the appointment of Carl Fletcher when an experienced manager was required to rebuild and provide leadership and direction, time will tell.
If the rumours about the current coaching staff being obstructive are true (and it sounds like they are) then it needs to be addressed head on and ironed out. If the disagreements cant be sorted the club needs to back Fletcher.
More later I'm sure.

The worst is being relegated back to the National League after 1 season , however to avoid that we have to get rid of Fletcher !

After what we’ve been through, getting relegated back down to the National League is unthinkable. Goodbye Carl and don’t forget to close the door behind you
