I don’t like it when we sell our promising youngsters, But. as I said at the time it made sense to take the reported £300,000 that Rotherham offered for Ekpiteta.as we have coulson, Happe, turley, and ogie who can play at centre half.
I doubt that we will ever get a similar offer for him now.

There is no proof that the offer was ever on the table.
Had we accepted such an offer, plenty would have been apoplectic.

Those plenty are pretty stupid though. £300k guaranteed money plus add ons, if offered (and as you say we don't know what/if an offer), would have been good business for someone in the last year of his contract and no signs so far that he will renew.

''IF'' true ?.....then £300,000 for Ekpiteta would have been an offer we should NOT have refused, especially as he is on the last year of his contract. The question must be though, can we really believe that Rotherham DID offer that amount for him and also DID Ekpiteta really wish to make the move to Rotherham ? I would have thought that If he had really been set on wanting to join that club and that the Os were going to get somewhere near that sort of transfer fee, then I would hazard a guess that we would not have stood in the players way and would have let him make the move.

He has potential, but he can choose to take that elsewhere for free next summer.

I reckon for a nominal amount in January, somewhere in the region of £20-50k

If Rotherham had offered £300k, Kent would have been driving Marv up there personally.

Still finding his feet in this division.
No idea why we are playing him at RB ahead of Judd though.

I'd be very surprised if they were. Pochettino's preferred style of play is an aggressive counter press. One feature of said style is a very high defensive line. There is no way someone with Happe's lack of pace and awkwardness on the turn would get within a million miles of a Poch line-up.

They bid 300k for him in the summer that’s a fact. We told them we wanted 500k, they wanted to put him in the u23’s and after talking to various people he decided to stay here and play first team football, plus spurs never came back with the 500k either and it was left to talk at Xmas. If that’s still the case then.....

Thor talking out of his suez again
Spurs have never been interested in Happe that’s a fact
Know a family Bethnal Green way who would laugh at that fake news

If spurs had offered £300k for Happe, Kent would have driven him round the north circ himself.

If there was one person from our history that I could have seen play it would have been Tommy Johnston.
