I haven`t been impressed with him this season, but I thought he was good in the first half.

Everyone was good first half.

But Clay was particularly bad second half.

I have nothing against Craig , but his form this year is way below what i expected.
If he is injured/unfit , or just not up to it in L2 he needs to sort it out sharpish.

Cant afford passengers.

At one stage he was limping badly after a collision and I thought he would go off.

It’s amazing how your form suffers when you have to do what Josh Wright and Joe Widdowson should be doing whilst getting forward to support and back to defend

Wasn't helped by being bizarrely shunted out wide left for a period in the second half.

Leave the poor bloke alone, he was pretty good in the first half, and at least he tries which is more than I can say for some!

Compared to last season he's nowhere near the same level of effort and fitness. You'd see him tracking back half the pitch to make tackles back then but now he can't keep up over 20 yards let alone anything further.

Still can't gauge whether it's pace of L2 is too quick for him or whether it's injury / fitness related. Couldn't understand him staying on ahead of Marsh by the end. Neither were great but Clay looked shot.

Surprised Marsh went off instead of Clay. At least Marsh seemed to have some energy left.

This and I don’t know where other boarders were seated to watch but from our row P (up at back) of Gallery me and Mrs NES thought he had a good game.

They play in different positions.

I don’t agree entirely but I get your point.

Clays best spell with us - IMO the only time he has really played at an acceptable level - was when he had Jobi alongside him.

Definitely happened. When Dennis came on, Brophy went up front and Wright and Clay played much wider on each side.

Clay was excellent all of last season, including when playing alongside Charlie Lee, long before McAnuff was starting in central midfield.

He didn’t change position to out wide tho.

He moved into a wide midfield position, yes.

Ok.

But it didn’t happen.

I agree that because we went 4-1-2-1-2 and were so narrow he was having to go out wide when they went down the right, yes. Same with Josh on our right. But neither of them change position as such. Possibly.
