On trial at Fulham, another one we're going to let go for peanuts having barely played for us?

You're a dreamer. The boy has something about him and a club who are in championship looking to get in the premier must be seeing the same as me if not more.

If he goes i trust that we get a proper fee for him with further incentives.

It's not really as we can sell him for a fee possibly more than we may have got under his old contract. Plus for the player he gets rewarded for good progress and development, what's not to like for everyone concerned?

Sweeney when he matures physically will be a very good player and he reminds me in the way he plays of Bobby Fisher a terrific full back of yesteryear. He rarely gives the ball away , his distribution is good and he is quick. It would be another managerial error to let him go cheaply as we did Alzate. Ogie and Sweeney are the future.

Did we let Alzate go cheaply?

Well you tell me what a young premiership players value is and then compare it with what we got, and let me know.

Why do I need to do that to know whether we sold him cheaply when we don't know for sure what he was sold for?

Alzate wasn't a Premier League standard player when he signed for them, as demonstrated by him being loaned to a League One/Two team. He was bought based on potential, which is a risk both ways (for Brighton has buyers and us as sellers). So he wouldn't have commanded a fee based on being a young "Premiership" (sic) player at the time we sold him.

Sorry, I thought he went to Brighton a premier league club.

Alzate wasn't a young Premier League player. He was a young League Two player bought by a Premier League team. I'm not sure why this is complicated.

Come on surely as a moderator you must see. It does not fit with someone's argument on the subject......

I don't really know what you're trying to say there. Also, I'm not a moderator any more.

According to your details you are indeed a moderator. According to the legend on the forum you are a moderator, so it’s likely you still have moderator powers and moderator access.

That makes you a moderator in my book.

Sweeney is a decent young player and deserves a run of games with us.

As low as £100k if this was accurate

It's like in the States they still call ex Presidents 'President' years after they've left office. You're right about me being a legend though!

I'm not judging the source just posting the only link I know of. Haven't seen anything else on it, only other place you might be able to get a rough idea is via accounts?

I would think £100k for an 18 year old national league player is a good deal. I presume there are add ons also

You won’t as they don’t post a P&L

Just for anyone that is interested a Brighton scout sat next to me at a game last season. There is a spare seat next to me and I always talk to whoever sits there. Lots of times it’s scouts. He said Brighton were very pleased with Alzate, he had a good attitude and potential. I couldn’t get out of him how much money was involved.
