Scunthorpe United on 16th Nov

As far as I can see our home game with Scunthorpe on 16th Nov is the only game on in London on that afternoon.
It’s a “ Football for a Fiver “ Fixture so this is just a ‘heads up’ for those of us who don’t have Season Tickets to buy their tickets in advance as some stands look fairly busy already.
We seem to have been lucky so far this season in that we’re always at home when it’s the International weekends.

I think I'll wait until the Wednesday of that week and then moan when it's sold out, thanks anyway 😉

Breaking the 7000 barrier must be the clubs aim. Carl doing the business will help :D

It is dependent on fans with tickets turning up.

Yep, always a problem

Or limit Scunthorpe to 300 East Stand tickets at the front, then we can sell the remaining seats behind them to home fans. As we did on the last game of the season v Braintree

I’m pretty sure you have to allow the away team 10% of your total capacity., which would rule out the above posters idea. However, I do agree and suggested on this very board last season that we should cut the away section down to the very min allowed, then sell the rest to orient fans. It never happened then so I don’t suppose it will happen now.

Let’s worry about the team continuing to turn up in the next few weeks before we start concerning ourselves with sell out crowds !

Let's do both. It's not hard to do. And why the worry?

You have to offer them the 10% but if they don't want that many, which Scunthorpe and most clubs don't, you can have them back.

It's the segregation - in both the stand and the undercroft - that's the issue, not the league rules.

Exactly this.

There were gaps all over for the last sold out game. Loads of spaces in the North and loads of groups of old blokes without a kid in sight.

The fact we're even talking about possible 7,000 plus crowds is brilliant really. Our crowds have been really impressive last couple of years. Our current average is 4th best in the division only behind Bradford, Plymouth and Swindon which are all city clubs. The owners have done well in this regard I think. Even when Hearn offered ticket deals we would be lucky to get 5,000 home fans and usually we would bottom out and average around 4,500. Our average so far this season is 5,759

Solution is to make North Stand adult prices the same as the South Stand. As it stands it is cheaper to buy a North Stand adult + U11 (£214 +£59) for less than an adult ticket (£335) elsewhere. If need be give Kids a fiver when they go in with their season ticket if the issue is making it more expensive for families. Can't force kids to go , but can stop people buying family area tickets when kids never go. Might need to make North stand half and half, so people don't have to relocate.

The sooner the club sorts this problem out the better. So many people sitting there without kids, its joke and not a funny one either.

I suppose the club aren’t able to charge adults a surcharge if they rock up without a kid ??
It does seem silly pricing though and annoying when you see loads of empty seats at games that are “sold out “

Went through this in detail at the time. I'm basically in agreement with this.

There should be a minor mark down on the North against the South because of lack of a bar but yeah, there's no reason for the differential to be so great.

As it stands it really ain't a Family Stand in anything other than name.

Most of the groups of old boys in there are perfectly well behaved, it's not as if it's beered up sweary 20/30 somethings, it's just the waste of seats on the well attended games that I have an issue with.

Should be a mark down on East Stand with leaking roof and seats covered in bird sh*t!
Still at least there is a decent bar there now and toilet cubicles have been modernised.
Lack of a bar, generally not an issue for me as I tend to turn up just before Kick off, and leave at final whistle. And half time queues are too long.

The East is a funny one - thought the pricing had remained high in previous years to try and get people out of there and into the newer stands.

I'm not saying the lack of a bar is an issue, just that additional facilities should mean a slightly higher price. But we're on the same page generally on this one.

I have vision of kids acting like Members of the House of Lords....signing in at turnstile to get their £5 then immediately leaving the ground

Some stands looking fairly full already, hopefully fans who wanna go buy early.
The crowd for Saturday against Carlisle also looking quite healthy
Hopefully some of the “Ghost Kidz” turn up.

There are whole families that buy season tickets and attend a handful of games. It's not just kids.

I can’t understand Families laying out over £500 and then hardly showing up.
Why the hell would they do that??

There will be a few seats in the East Stand empty , they are relocating the people who sit under the leaky roof to seats further back in the stand 🤔🤔

Perhaps they want to financially support Orient as well as attending some games
