What an afternoon. Didn’t see us winning it before the game, came away absolutely buzzing. We were just as good as they were awful. Such a good result to set a platform for Fletchers reign.

Brill- 6: Not much to do but couple of good saves when called upon. Kicking bit awry.

Ekpiteta- 8: Out of position again and pretty outstanding again. Let barely anything past. No attacking threat is the only minus and he certainly looks like a center half playing out of position.
Coulson- 8: Solid as a rock and a great finish.
Happe- 9: MOTM for me. Brilliant afternoon. Took goal well, had Hanson in his pocket and barely put a foot wrong.
Widdowson- 7: Solid, didn’t do a lot of note.

Brophy- 6: Not a lot came off but usual effort was there and his pace causes problems. Key part of this side.
Clay- 6: Think game passed him by a bit but did the dirty side quite well.
Gorman- 7: Thought he had a good game, neat passing and kept things ticking.
Wright- 8: He’s far more important to this side than people give him credit for. Rarely gives the ball away, is a leader in the middle of the park and took pen well.

Dayton- 6: Thought it was a bold decision from Ross to throw him in but probably justified it. As you’d expect the pace of the game eventually wore on him.
Harrold- 7: Great again. Led line so well and offered an outlet. Think away from home he could be key this season as he can relieve a lot of pressure by being so good at holding the ball up and winning flick ons. As you’d expect, tired a lot as game wore on.

Subs
Alabi- 7: Did exactly as asked and the goal sent the away end into bits, some moment. Thought he’d actually taken a touch too many but finished it well, hope he kicks on.
Dennis- 5: Little impact on game and looks a bit lightweight.
Marsh- 6: Did job.

Had a look at the fixtures and our next 5-6 are mostly winnable. Who knows what is in store this season but I felt we made a statement yesterday. Things are starting to click. Up the Os

I too think we could be in the verge of our team going well this season
Would rather see us on the right road than the verge, fella.

Happe lost concentration on a couple of occasions late on, allowing them big chances which they thankfully fluffed. Needs to sort that if he’s going to play at the highest level.

Also, really like Wright in the holding role.

The improvement in our defence since he dropped back to that slot is incredible.

Really interested in the formation on Tuesday in what is a very tough away game. Difficult first game for Fletch.

I imagine it would be as you were.

Of course it will.

Given the current winning run and the lack of alternative options, can’t believe anyone would think otherwise.

I agree with most of that, but not Brill. I thought he was excellent. Two really good saves and kept the other defenders on their toes with a lot of screaming throughout the game.

A solid "8" for me.

He made a couple of great saves in the highlights.

Isn't that his job ?

You’re probably right and on reflection of the highlights should have upgraded him. I’d completely forgotten about the two saves, both equally crucial, second of which outstanding on viewing

I would expect any keeper at this level to make both those saves. No way should they be going in.

He's a great shot stopper, when it's within reaching distance. His reflexes are still top notch.

He receives far too much stick off this board and in my opinion mostly unjustified.

TBH, I've yet to see a better keeper than him in the league this season. They all look about roughly the same .
