Re: Conor Wilkinson
No way we could even consider appealing that one, time for Dennis or JMD to prove their worth in the meantime.

Not true. It depends on the offence. A straight red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity or deliberate handball is a one match ban.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 6:53 pmYes, straight red is an automatic three game ban. We’re going to miss him

Re: Conor Wilkinson
Violent conduct which is what he got done for is an automatic 3 match ban, other than that SF is quite correct.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
As Thor said it was for violent conduct and not anything else, but just pointing out that a straight red isn't necessarily a three match ban as was claimed.Frogger wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 10:19 pmPretty sure he can’t use that excuse it was raised hands to a players face. Re: Conor Wilkinson
He has certainly stepped up to the plate in the absence of Angol, then again so has Harrold. Long may both continue in the rich vein of form that both are in.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
He will come back better, stronger and wiser. Nothing like a slapped wrist to focus the mind, especially with a new boss. With Angol to come back too things look good for Fletch.
Our problems ain’t up front but in midfield and the back. Get that sorted and it will be an enjoyable mid table season.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
As you know doubt know, Fletch is how Norman Stanley was referred to in the sit com. A reasonable handle. Carling is just f*cking tediousDisoriented wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 8:51 pmThis Fletch thing is getting rather tedious.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 8:40 pm He will come back better, stronger and wiser. Re: Conor Wilkinson
Our business this summer really is looking quite decent. Angol was our best player until his hammy pinged and Wilkinson was our best since then. We banked circa 700k for Bonne and Koroma and spent likely a fraction of that on the replacements who don't seem to be an obvious downgrade.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
I’m pleased with Wilkinson and Angol. If we can play them together in a way that suits both it would be amazing. Bothers me that Wilkinson has flourished with Angol out. Get that right and we have a great strike force. Especially as Harold has done well. Dennis too in my opinion has potential to chip in.Red_Army wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 11:18 pm Our business this summer really is looking quite decent. Plenty of goals in this team. Only trouble is that it’s both ends.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
Personally I think our summer business was good, no doubt about that in my eyes however, find the midfield enforcer and it would have been excellent, it’s still the last piece of the jigsaw we are missing.

Not sure he'll come back wiser. I've had doubts about that from his very first interview with the club.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 8:40 pm He will come back better, stronger and wiser. I expect more of that sort of thing to come from him, unfortunately.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
Difficult to criticise any of those that came in - I like all of Angol, Wilkinson, Wright and Dennis (to varying degrees). A forward line of those combined with Brophy and JMD is really exciting.
But I'm not sure it was enough business. Stepping up a division, we needed to improve but we haven't - the starting 11 this season is worse than it was last season and there is no greater depth to the squad than there was either.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
As it happens, I think Justin would have been the man to straighten him out and help him fulfil his potential. Let's hope Fletch is the same sort of character.

Re: Conor Wilkinson
No way is our starting xi weaker this season. We've gained Wright over Lee. Yes we've lost Bonne and Koroma, but Wilkinson and Angol are hardly a step down.RedO wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 10:58 amDifficult to criticise any of those that came in - I like all of Angol, Wilkinson, Wright and Dennis (to varying degrees).
