Someone mentioned to me Boris Johnson applied for the job. Apparently his current position involves dealing with UK and European teams but he was looking for a change. Also he would be up against Michael Gove but felt he could beat him to the top job again.

Oh, I've heard of them. Definitely what we need, rather than someone who's been coaching for years.

Oddly enough I remember seeing the two of them along with Michael Carrick playing for England U18 at Brisbane Road about 20 years ago. They played Cyprus. Carrick was most impressive, even though Cole was pretty hyped at the time.
