Re: Up Front Pairing
If anything it'll make us more balanced, Wilkinson wide in the 3 was a bit of round peg in square hole. Got a nice choice of Dennis, JMD or Dayton to fill the gap.
Bigger problem is who to bring on when Harrold tires and finding a plan B once we can't go long. Alabi doesn't help in any of those scenarios.
Highlights why another striker is first thing on the shopping list for the new manager.

Re: Up Front Pairing
Yes, now is the time to give Sortiriou his chance . Alternatively he must be at least on the subs bench and start with Dennis up front beside Harrold.

Re: Up Front Pairing
If a fit Dennis can’t get in the team in front of a coming back to fitness Dayton then I’m guessing Dayton gets the nod next week.

Re: Up Front Pairing
Try Sortiriou first . He deserves his chance and could solve our problem without going into the transfer market.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 6:27 pm If anything it'll make us more balanced, Wilkinson wide in the 3 was a bit of round peg in square hole. Re: Up Front Pairing
I was thinking Dennis would be the natural replacement, but on reflection I think they'll go with Dayton. He is left footed and offers more defensively so will be closer to a like for like swap for Wilkinson.

Re: Up Front Pairing
Dayton can't be ready. He will need a gradual increase in his number of minutes.
What will be interesting is the new head coachs' view on his players. It gives the likes of Sotirou and a few of the youngsters a chance to make a favourable impression on him. It will certainly be interesting to see what he makes of Alabi!

Re: Up Front Pairing
Stick everyone behind the ball apart from a speedy one on the half way line. Soak everything up then boot anything loose upfield for speedy boy to chase and hopefully score. Strikers are over rated.

Re: Up Front Pairing
Fair point, it's the least risky area to try a raw young player. Got to offer more than Alabi.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 7:28 pmTry Sortiriou first . @Little Mate I see you wrote above ''What will be interesting is the new managers view on his players.''LittleMate wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:56 pmDayton can't be ready. He will need a gradual increase in his number of minutes.

Yet when I mentioned the word ''Manager'' in a comment on the subject posted onb this forum e.g '''Neil Harris leaves Millwall
you posted this reply to me .....Post by LittleMate » Fri Oct 04, 2019 5:59 pm ''And we are not looking for a manager, we are looking for a head coach.''
To which I replied
by Sid Bishop » Sat Oct 05, 2019 9:55 am
''Rather pedantic but ok, most people would say Manager of Leyton Orient, a title that the late Justin Edinburgh was usually known as and referred to as in most media reports.''
So seems like @Little Mate and a few others on this forum just argue for the sake of it !

Re: Up Front Pairing
It will be Dennis on the right in a straight swap. Harold centre and Brophy left, again.

Re: Up Front Pairing
I guess it depends on the formation that the new head coach wishes to use. If it's back to 4-4-2 I reckon Harrold and JMD.

Re: Up Front Pairing
That's what it should be, that makes the most logical sense. However, will the DOF allow it?
