He’s edged Derek Adams from top spot. Actually I think Currie could be a good appointment, him or Darryl McMahon.

Hope not. Half a season in NL & Barnet have hardly been fantastic. Would prefer Adams, Sole C or Parkinson

I agree. Darren Currie would be a very poor choice

Does that include compensation?

Exactly. At this moment in time we need an experienced Manager and Darren Currie is not that man

I liked Curry as a player, he was hot. Held onto the ball and was very tricky. But as someone has said above, he is unproven as a manager, and do we need that at this moment in time? Having said that, I would still put him in my favoured top five out of the dozen or so candidates mentioned so far.

Look, it won’t happen.

Currie just has not proven his credentials as a manager/HC. Should he come in he too will be learning on the job. We’ve already had two months of that and look where we are.

To appoint Currie would be gross incompetence, putting us exactly where we were with Ross, praying it works out. And if it don’t we are in for a sh*tty season.

No guarantees whoever comes in but an experienced man reduces risk.

Going on previous managers ( and theres been more than a few in the last 5 yrs), do we really think the Bookies market is any indication as to who is actually going to be appointed?
Surely, unless there is a leak within the club, they have no more info they we do

The bookies just want to rake in money, they have no more idea than the rest of us. How many favourites so far? Jigging the numbers to shaft the punters. Nothing to get excited about.

I had a curry the other night, the first one I've had in months, bloody nice it was as well.

That is all.

No, I don't. I've had a fair bit of experience with betting odds in the past so I'm not getting carried away with this particular market. I'm just stating it as it is.

Got to be joking, unproven at this level.
The club would be mad to appoint Currie, we need an experienced, proven Manager at this level, the club have surely learnt from mist of the past !

Stick £30 on Shergar being the manager and it would be favourite to be the manager. It means very little.

Why would he be joking about what the bookies odds are? And what does this have to do with the reality of the situation?

It's just a chance for you to have a whine and a whinge which you always take the opportunity to do.

Pleased to see that our 'new manager' is being slated even though he's not even got the job. Must help to extend the list of good candidates who want to manage a club supported by such a bunch of......

Quite fitting that Currie should get people sh*tting their pants.

Every day I log on to this Board there is a new Bookies favourite. Can't believe there is a massive market in this, so probably every time someone puts a fiver on someone, he becomes the favourite. I'm happy to wait and see who finally gets the gig before making any other comments.

And every time there is a new favourite the same old people go into a frenzy. It's like they never learn.

I am sure the bookmakers manipulate the odds and create false favourites to draw mug money. Some punters may have seen Derek Adams at 1/3 and thought they were buying money, now he is not even favourite. I remember Graham Westley being installed at 1/2 and he didn't have a sniff at the job.

Keep your eyes open tomorrow and see if you can spot any prospective head coaches in the West Stand. Perhaps you could start an 'I Spy' competition

Rumour has it that Phil Parkinson is in the frame for the Sunderland job.
