OK they are Northampton Radio talking to the Northampton public so I don’t expect objectivity but bloody hell.
They lost a player to sickness at 10 am so had to reshuffle. Curle gave this excuse 5 times during his radio interview . We lost a player after 7 minutes and played Ekpiteta out of position. ( though he did well). We didn’t have chance to plan for that.
The referee game them nothing. I thought he didn’t give us too much either. Makes him fair.
Their forward pair were poor. Forward play in general not good. I though our centre backs were good and snuffed them out. Coulson was immense. Like Happe alongside him. Marv and Joe worked their socks off. That’s why their forwards looked crap. For once our defence was solid.
Their Midfield didn’t create much. Maybe ours were working overtime not to give them much chance. Made it look scrappy but out guys were scrapping for everything. Nullified their midfield completely, and I didn’t think I would ever be saying that.
Scathing of our breakaway goal. I thought it was one of few moments of real class during the game.
But their comment that they always seem to play badly against poor teams really takes the biscuit. They were poo poo because we battled them out of the game. Sucking on too many sour grapes methinks.

Of course. Seems though Northampton are playing well below their capabilities and should be near the top, but keep dropping points to lesser teams.
In other words exactly why they ain’t top.
Nice that they feel us to be a poor team.

That’s the impression I got. Must be some player, should be in the prem. just play him, no need for anyone else.

It's not unusual that Northampton Radio, talking about NTFC, will talk a lot of Cobblers

If a team had produced that sort of performance on my watch I'd definitely want to distract attention away from that too.

Curle also moaned about them hitting the post, changes games. That we hit the woodwork twice before then seems to have slipped his mind.
Gotta say, until the highlights I didn’t really see us hitting the woodwork, poor viewing angle and people continually standing up.

Northampton were the worst team we've played this season bar Stevenage but at least Stevenage defended well.
