Dina Asher Smith the first British female to win a world sprint gold medal.

Congratulations are indeed in order.

Although it’s debatable whether it’s a “British sprint first” - depends whether you think of the 400m as a sprint discipline. Also not sure why you needed to remark on her skin colour.

It was the 200m. I think the point of the thread title was to make you think it was about Diana Abbot being the first black woman to take PM's questions.

I think slackers point is that if you count 400m as a sprint, then Christine Ohrogugu or however it’s spelt is the first.

You’re right about spens attempt at humour though.

The point of the post was to highlight the huge achievement of Dina Asher Smith.

400m is officially classed as a sprint, so it is odd the the media is saying Dina is first British woman to win gold.
