Think it's always a shame if you rate a player from afar only to be disappointed when you work with him.

We've already had an unexpected windfall from shifting Perkins so best not be greedy and just take the termination & free transfer on this one :D

Shame. Don’t think it was a lack of effort or attitude, he just ain’t got it

Strange one- left a contract at Wycombe to join us then Boco’d pretty quickly, then back in once el miz was injured. Had a couple of very good games, i think there's a player in there but didn't perform at his best often enough.

I liked him.

He’s definitely got something about him but he’s not the 6 we needed to replace Brown, and nor is El Miz. Was on a hiding to nothing.

I hope things work out for him whichever L1 club he ends up at.

Who did play well consistently last season? Ballard is literally the only one, Forrester too for the handful of games he was fit.

Why again?
What actually did he contribute? 🤔

To be fair to him, he scored winning goals against Posh and Exeter. We would have been relegated without them.

It is a shame that he’s leaving because everyone wanted him to succeed. It just didn’t happen for him.

Personally I think El Miz has better defensive attributes than attacking ones and can play 6. He can put himself about and tackle. Can also pick the ball up from defenders and take it forward into space. Not a flair player or natural goal scorer. Can do anything Brown can do only better, but it he can't do it all playing with dross. Brown was limited, but underrated and good at what he did.

With the number of midfielders transfer listed, you have to wonder whats happened to cause that. Is there a reason why our midfielders in particular were demotivated or underperformed?

For me his best contribution was superb pass through for Ollie to make it 2-2 home to Stockport.
Have to say there were not too many highlights from him the rest of the season.
Won’t be too sorry to see him go, but wish him well as it may just be that he can’t play fir Wellens

Yup totally agree, El Miz looked best doing the defensive role and doesn't really stand out in the same way further forward. The answer is already here, then fill the more ball playing roles with the new signings.

Too many of the ones we've signed are underwhelming on and off the ball, Wellens knows the midfield role better than most at the club having played there to a good level so he's going to notice the details more than any other position imo

Terrible player. Mystified me why he was brought here, totally not Richie type player.

Before he come here, he had 6 clubs in the previous 6 seasons.

That was a red flag for me. He's a league 2 player at best, more like a non league player. Offered almost nothing. Good luck to the fella, but the sooner he's gone from Orient the better.

They didn't underperform, they were crap to start with. Last summer's signings were one of the worst ever, bar Connoly, ElMiz & Ballard... The rest were dreadful, hence we only avoided relegation on the last day because our rivals lost.

The Boco Island Five... now four and soon to be three

Clare - back in training... back in the fold?
Perkins - Wigan
Bakinson - on his way
Koroma - tbc
Gordon - tbc

Of course he can. But we lose some of that drive and energy making him sit deeper.
