Seems Martin Ling is ruling out any change in the coaching team below that of the new head man. I wonder if that will impact upon the number of decent candidates we might get?

Does Martin Ling have the sole power to make this decision? If so, that worries me.

Stand head and shoulders next to Ross in the turbulent waters? What is that all about. Is he comparing himself to Moses in the Red Sea?

I am pretty sure he took me from Paddington to London bridge last week.

Didn’t stop Justin taking the job.

It’s ok, Mott the Hoople also sits in on the interviews.

It may do - but in a positive way as far as I'm concerned. Ross, Jobi and Danny have done nothing wrong and don't deserve to be shown the door on the back of what has happened. Any new manager worth his salt should be good enough to work with anyone including those who are already in place. If they say they only want to job if they can bring in their mates, the club should rightly be saying 'no thanks'. It worked for JE.

Ah, it always pays to keep up with who we're moaning about this week. Now that Ross has fallen on his sword, Ling senior is back in the firing line.

Spot on. We have a structure. Let's stick with it.

Agreed Tent, the beauty of long term thinking ensures stability when things go awry. Hopefully the structure will stand up once more under a new head coach, like it did under Justin.

I do recall many were against it when it was introduced.

Having watched that it makes sense now Ross looked so I'll at ease in the job; he didn't want to do it and was persuaded into it by Ling, who seemed to know all along it didn't suit the guy's personality and skill set.

I do wonder why he made the beeline for Ross to do it rather than Webb though.

I can’t believe this bloke.
He has had 3 months to get an idea who he wants, now he is going to ask every Tom willy and Harry to send their Cv in.
He should have a shortlist of two and get the best one, I give him a clue, Sol Campbell Derek Adams.
What’s he going to do, have a round of interviews for the next month and pick the cheapest?.
I can’t believe any other club with any ambition will act like that.
Go out and get the man to take the club forward.
Unbelievable.

Why have a DOF when after 3 months he hasn’t got a clue who the manager should be and is going to advertise in the Sunday Sport.

How do you know he doesn’t have a clue? He may well have identified who he would like but I doubt he was in a position to talk with them until Ross resigned. Now, quite rightly, he is looking further afield to see who is interested. He is going through the correct process. Don’t mean he hasn’t already got preferences but he needs to find out if they are interested too and that they are a good fit.

He needs to get it right so taking a bit extra time is spot on.
