Well done Alzate. Off all that crop he was by far the most talented.
Sounds like he's holding his own too.
Wonder if we're due any commissions on him making his Premier League debut?

I think Newcastle would struggle to beat us at the moment, they are awful, I’d love Steven Alzate to score the winner.

Guessing there will be some add ons based on appearances. Though not sure whether one game would trigger. Think this is worth us asking on one of the podcasts/radio shows when a club heavy is on.

Looked the part. Newcastle were awful. Brighton are a decent team, probably fall down when it comes to scoring but think they are headed I'm right direction. They must have completed 3 or 4 times more passes than Newcastle, just lacked the end product. Great clearance of the line from young Connelly.

Defo should have been booked for the dive.

Looked ok at that level, which is remarkable. Good luck to him.
And yeah, obviously a booking, but so what.

I know its old hat, but it really guts me up when we sell our young diamonds so cheaply.
The clubs never disclose the fee, but I would guarantee, it was way under £1m.....probably nearer £3to400k
Other clubs in low leagues get huge fees for promising young players, but we dont, whichever regime is in charge at the time.
It will probably come to pass, that Alzate will at some point, be transferred to a top six premier club, and the fee will be around £50 mil. hopefully we will get a small percentage of that

Bet it was nearer £100k, judging by the losses we made.

Probably less than that, seems we barely get £100k-200k if we're lucky. To me that doesn't justify the costs of the academy and it'll only get worse if / when the new FIFA fixed price compensation rules come in.
Personally I'd bin the academy and retain a couple of staff to scout released talents from Prem academies, along with up and coming players from NL. Let the rich clubs do all the personal development from age 14-18 rather than us effectively subsidising their squad development costs.

Can’t disagree with that.

If you want to know approx look at the annual accounts, they are filled at companies house.

SC a p&l is not filed so it’s not possible to ascertain where the turnover comes from. There is nothing underhand in not filing one either, the club is fully compliment in law in what it submit’s to companies house.
