Lineup for today
Just out on Twitter. Called it during the week; 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 with Marsh in place of Wilkinson as additional CM. Clay drops to the bench replaced by Gorman.

Re: Lineup for today
Clay on the bench. Terrible decision.
Ling has paid his subs for the next month to guarantee his starting place then.

Re: Lineup for today
You don't get much defensive output out of JMD or Dennis so I'm assuming its an aggressive 4-3-3. Marsh will sit in front of the back four and recycle, Wright will funnel the ball to the runners and Gorman will be tasked with making supporting runs. Dennis on the right providing width, JMD cutting in from the left (with Widdowson failing to provide the overlap!). There's a lot of pressure on Angol to hold the ball up, create space and stop Exeter building from the back. He's good enough to do it but he's going to be a busy boy all afternoon if we are going to have any success.

Re: Lineup for today
Think that's very unfair on Widdowson. It's not his ball control or overlapping that's the problem.Eat The Rich wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 2:27 pm You don't get much defensive output out of JMD or Dennis so I'm assuming its an aggressive 4-3-3. Re: Lineup for today
Can we add to the prediction league the minute Gorman will pick up a yellow. 55 minutes for me.
Decent line up.
Decent line up.
Re: Lineup for today
Sensible enough. Obviously don't wanna get over-run early on and be out of it like last week.
Marsh is a bit of a gamble, but worth a shot in this game. Last week, the front three were cut adrift by no service, but Wright, Clay, Widdowson and Ling have no real ability to drive forwards in a direct manner, only pass it around themselves or waste crosses from deep. At least there is a chance of it with Gorman and Marsh.
Maybe would have preferred the harder working Clay in this match, as Gorman/Marsh should be able to pass it around, but it'd be a huge call to drop an influential guy like Wright, especially if we lose.
Also don't really understand why Brill is not being dropped. He hasn't been right this season, but the more the pressure mounts the harder it becomes to risk Sarge in case we lose.
Got a feeling we will be soaking up pressure, hoping for one of Angol/Dennis/JMD to deliver something special.

Re: Lineup for today
Orient will get overrun with Wright in midfield, he can't hold position. They need to have Clay, Marsh and Wright (I'd prefer Gorman) in midfield, not 2 men.eagwgw wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 2:39 pm Sensible enough. Obviously don't wanna get over-run early on and be out of it like last week.

Re: Lineup for today
Happe is out through 'family reasons'....so we''ll never know, had he been available, if Ross would have continued with the 5-3-2

Did you not watch him last Saturday? Looked completely shot physically, needs some time out the starting XI.Disoriented wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 2:37 pmClay on the bench is madness.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 2:20 pm Clay on the bench. Terrible decision.

Re: Lineup for today
Yeah, because he has to do the job of an attacking midfielder, defensive midfielder and cover for Josh Wright who is incapable of holding position or sensing danger. He's not out the team because he needs a rest (6 weeks into the seasongshaw wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 2:51 pmDid you not watch him last Saturday?
