In Hartlepool for the week...

Well 2 weeks all in doing a course, decided through boredom to look to see if there was any local football on, found that Spennymoor Town are hosting local rivals Blyth Spartans in an early season bottom of the table clash (19th v 24th). Decided to head along, however, which end do I go in? Am I right in saying that a couple of players during the WW1 era, and possibly 1/2 of those that lost their lives were from Blyth? If this is the case I will go in the away end. Also we hosted them a couple of seasons ago and I seem to remember them bringing a decent following on the long trip south!

Was talking to one of the guys on my team today about Blythe as he follows them. Apparently pretty much all of their best players left last season and Lee Clarke ain’t all that

Don't do away end at Spennymoor very often as we are civilised folks & enjoy socialising with our opponents

Shame mate, I enjoyed my trip to Spennymoor, spoke to a few Blyth fans beforehand and they told me about their manager doing a runner to Darlington and taking 7 of their players with him, you could tell, they offered nothing and it was a walkover for Spennymoor from the minute Blyth went a man down! Pleasantly surprised at the little ground, proper non league ground with friendly fans and the hog roast van did some decent food too.

Although it gets a bad reputation I really like Hartlepool, you can tell there are some very deprived areas but the marina and bits of the town centre are not bad. Been here a few times through orient games (being based in Scotland it’s one of my nearest fixtures). Always enjoyed my trips to Hartlepool.

Ground will be much better when the top end is finished....redoing the terracing and 2/3rds of end to be covered.

Re game.....stupid action by Blyth player and deserved his red card, but it destroyed the game as a contest.

Hartlepool are visiting Dagenham on Saturday, so their fans will get a chance to see how the “other half” live.

Guy who is running the course I’m currently on has houses that they put the people on the course up in, one of them he is in the process of trying to sell. 4 bedroom house, decent house, on the market for £80,000.
