Have the Mighty Fallen?

Worrying times for German football, so long a top force in the game.
With the failure of club teams in the Champions League, Bayern Munich losing 3-1 to Liverpool, Dortmund defeated 4-0 by Tottenham and Schalke's 10-2 loss to Manchester City and the National team's abysmal showing in the World Cup finishing last in their group, are we witnessing the end of Germany's dominant era?
If last night's display against Holland is an indicator then the answer maybe yes.
They drew level at 2-2 when gifted a penalty which at best was dubious but a more accurate description would be farcical. There then followed a great display by Holland aided by some inept defending by Germany resulting in a convincing 4-2 win by the Dutch.
Germany surely must do better in Belfast against Northern Ireland on Monday next if they are to qualify for the European Championship in 2020.

I just wish England were as poor as Germany

Holland are a decent team though so it is no disgrace losing to them.

Germany were irritating but I did admire them.Remember when they dismantled Brazil.

Classic.

I remember when they nearly dismantled the Soviet Union in 1942.

Really? Rather thought it was the other way round.

Read some stuff about Operation Barbarossa. You'll see that the Germans dismantled the western side of the Soviet Union right up
to the gates of Moscow. From 1943 onwards the Russians had the upper hand.

As regards to the match today, I think Swindon Town are doing their own Barbarossa on us.

You must all be aware of what the Geermans are like, they will come back even stronger.

Remember the saying "Never trust the Hun, one minute he's at your feet, next he's at your throat"

Sorry about that, plain bad phraseology. Of course I wasn't around in 1942, but have seen a lot of documentaries about WW2
and read a few books on the subject, but in 1941 and '42 the Russians were really mauled by the Germans.

The Geermans are top of their group, they are not falling anywhere.
