Truly a superb clearance and just epitomises the fact that he needs a change of scenery.

Also see how this big, strong and intimidating player makes a half arsed attempt to head the ball over the keeper from that through ball when he should be looking to win the header cleanly and with power first and worry about the keeper second.

Jesus, yes Alabi obviously ain't gonna make it here but some of the nitpicking about everything he does is embarrassing. He's f*cked up those chances because a lack of confidence means he's overthinking. For the attempted header he should have lifted it over the 'keeper or touched it past him, he just hasn't got enough power on it due to the bounce of the ball, hasn't bottled it at all

If a striker keeps missing chances he's still doing something right by getting those chances in the first place, would be more worrying if he wasn't getting into goalscoring positions at all

I think that’s harsh. The ball was holding up and difficult to judge, don’t think he’s bottled it.

No idea what he’s done with the open goal mind you. Why would you go with your head rather than your foot?

Lovely ball from Gorman to set up the first and nice quick strike for his goal.

But that tackle was disgusting. He’s tried to do him with the initial challenge and gone over the top but luckily lands on the ball not the player. Obviously that wasn’t enough so he goes after him with the second stamp. The Southend player has every right to be furious with that.

The funny thing is if he would have scored all the Alabi knockers would have said "even he couldn't miss that" 😂😂😂
Famous last words

Great character & tryer but it's not going to happen for him here now is it ?
Can see him going elsewhere in National League & scoring 15 or 20

I’m a proud Alabi hater.

Absolutely any comment I make about him is driven purely by hatred rather than based on an objective review of his performances and ability. I just randomly choose players to hate for no reason whatsoever. Absolutely nothing to do with them as footballers.

And no, I’m not better than him myself and I wouldn’t say anything to his face

Half a yard out with an open goal and the ball coming to you isn’t a goalscoring position then?

Idiot

Why are people so determined to defend the bloke? He literally cleared a goal bound header off of the line to stop us scoring. He’s a lovely bloke by all accounts, but a useless footballer. Many strikers we’ve had in the past have been hung out to dry who were better than Alabi. So strange how people jump to his defence. Surprised he doesn’t get a 9 every week for a couple of good passes in the half time warm up.

What’s your point exactly?

I could get in goalscoring positions by your definition, don’t mean I’ll score any goals.

My point is I’d rather he was getting chances and missing them rather than not having a shot in 90 mins.

Also I’m not defending him. I’m calling out people who need their opinion of him reinforcing so they find fault with every touch he takes. Just because a player isn’t good enough for this level doesn’t mean everything he touches will turn to sh*t

What’s even more bizarre is this claim that people are being hyper critical of him.

No they aren’t. All I’ve seen is people correctly pointing out awful performances and a clear lack of ability for the level he is currently trying to play at.

I’ve not seen a single person insult him or his character. Quite the opposite, in fact. Most go out of their way to say what a decent bloke he is and how hard he tries.

Thanks for confirming how little you know. It’s axtually cringeworthy how you try to be a smartarse and pretend you’re an authority on the subject.

Save talking bollocks for the sh*t long podcasts mate. At least I have the option of not listening to them.

What is your solution about the problem that is Alabi? How long should we give him?

So you agree player isn’t good enough for this league? At least you know something about football.

Me (and many others) have been saying Alabi isn’t good enough for a good while, so you’re right, I am an authority on this subject and you’ve taken up a very odd stance of agreeing with my point of view but still being wrong.

Not discussing with you any further as you clearly don’t know your arse from your elbow when it comes to football, and I won’t lower myself to your low knowledge level any longer. :)

Did he have a shot?

I've only seen the highlights and in those he only had 2 headers, neither of which were powerful enough or in the right direction.

People have been massively supportive of him. But enough is now enough.

Hi 0.0, the solution is to let him go when his contract is up unless he's willing to leave before that. HTH

Over how many years? Let’s face it, he had one fluke season at Chester, but he’s not even good enough for the Conference proper. Hopefully Gorman and Dayton will join him on the train to Chelmsford soon enough, and our squad will be stronger for it.
