According to their forum, Southend’s left wingback allegedly racially abused and threatened with violence by Orient fans after the game last night...

Wonder if that has anything to do with it. By looking at twitter there’s loss of dickhead kids who went last night to prove they were a real fan and to abuse Southend.
Hope they get found and banned. This allegation and the Salford crap leaves a sour taste.

If as the tweet says the police were present hopefully the culprits would be identified pretty quickly, if the allegation is true.

I was walking past the incident and heard a Southend fan shout "you can't say that it's racist you bunch of ******"

To be fair Southend fans (most of which were just family of players or an older set people who are probably part of their supporters club not looking for trouble) were sitting there all night taking alot of abuse from people who look like they are off the set of Benadorm perma tan included. To be fair they didn't really react until the end. I was just embarrassed for us really.

Wonder if someone shouting his surname among the foul mouthed abuse has been misinterpreted as racist abuse (unless there was deliberate mispronunciation of his name). Not that abusive language is much better.

Looking at their results that could have been Sarfend's fans "Shouting you're f**King s**t" at them.
Unfair to blame us O's

If there were any racist chants, I can't see the club standing for it & would take appropriate action.

That's what I was thinking as well. If this happened then I seriously doubt it came from the regular fans . Probably people who just came along on the night to see Southend in particular .

I clicked on this thread thinking that I was gonna read how well he played.

He was up and down that left side all evening. I thought he was their standout player and wouldn't mind him signing for our lot.

Disappointing to hear all the above though.

There were a few sitting behind me in the North end of the stand who were giving it large to the Southend fans all the game ( seen em at home games before ) , one guy in particular who must be in his fifties was going mental and was acting like a real tosser , i left as the second goal went in so did not see what happened but i wouldnt mind betting this lot were involved ☹☹

Ron - it was not them. the fans involved were younger around 18 to 21
