Hong Kong

Truly shocking footage on the BBC website of police storming onto a train and indiscriminately using pepper spray and beating the crap out of all and sundry.

Who is the Foreign Office Minister this week and what does she/he have to say about this?

1997 looks a long time ago now.

Don’t hear you complaining about this happening all over China on an almost daily basis

What the feck can we do? Send in the gunboats. Perhaps a strongly worded memo perhaps.

China ain’t gonna lose any sleep worrying about us. They do their own thing all the time, we are insignificant.

More concerned about who Fonald Trump is to be fair. Is he a worse version than his brother?

Yeah because you have never made a typo

Or is your mental health so bad you couldn't work out what was meant?

You are quoting yourself now AND making more digs about mental health.

Can it get any worse (or better for the Spin fans of car-crash boarding)?

I think he means Red Army as the self appointed know it all will be able to answer every bodies questions. So he don’t need to.

Tourism getting f***ed. Lots of small guys/companies rely on that. They are the ones I feel for.

The PRC doesn't care about the views of foreigners, it'll do what it wants.

In-laws are on their way to HK right now for a couple of days so hopefully they've timed it just right.

Ha, you would hope so. Might be worth suggesting using taxis as their main form of transport though.

Britain should let Hong Kong people come here if they so wish. Yes, it could be in the millions and yes, it will piss people off but it’s our duty.

It's not about p*ssing people off . I seriously doubt our infrastructure could cope with that amount of incoming people and over such a short period .

The older generation won’t move. I would guess the numbers could be between 1 and 2 million. We had 700,000 poles come in over a couple of years. Hong Kong people have never relied on the state. Most would bring wealth or at least, the ability to support themselves. The situation is desperate and it is only a matter of time before China sends in a tank.

I share your concern . I can also see the tanks going in . When that happens it's going to be terrible .
