After what has happened over the last few years in lower league football l feel it may need a bit of 1980s Thatcherism.
Overmanned, unproductive, loss making, poorly managed, all the symptoms of British industry in the 1980s.Lower league football is much the same in many cases.

Sounds more like the 70's. Which is why our car industry (for one) went to the wall; as foreign (and UK) buyers deserted in droves- refusing to buy sub-standard products from an unreliable and incompetent workforce strangled by the Unions.

Sounds like our banking system, which survived on a huge bail out. Ahhh capitalism.

Ah yes! I remember her. The lady who knew all about Football & working class 'oolies. Isn't she the one who banned standing on the terraces?

Incompetent useless lazy managers.
The Japanese recognise Unions and don’t seem to have a problem.

Thatchers last foray into football was to lean on the FA so that her fellow MP and friend David Evans could have a sub standard plastic pitch at Luton Town FC and ban away fans from the ground.

They didn’t recognise ‘em in 1942 fella. My uncle was in Singapore as a union rep and negotiations over a pay rise didn’t go well.

Hi. In case you hadn't noticed that war's been over for a while now.

Great to see you belittling those who gave their service to our country.

Absolutely classic social media. Instead of just accepting you posted something that makes you look a fool you try to deflect the discussion by implying something I DID NOT SAY. Please feel free to continue looking like an idiot though.

In all fairness I think you was the one who started that.

Uncle Jim was no fool fella - clear to see that you may have ‘moved on’. Others find it impossible to.

I have a number of Jewish friends whose parents came to the UK after the Holocaust. Try telling them ‘the war’s been over for a while now’.

Wow, pleased to see that you took my advice to carry on looking like an idiot.

I have no frame of reference as to whether or not Uncle Jim was a fool. That's why I DID NOT SAY THAT. I said YOU were a fool, not at all the same thing.

As to your second point if you can put me in touch with these friends of yours I'll be only too happy to clarify, for anyone who's not yet aware, that the war is over. This, of course, is NOT the same thing as disregarding or belittling the horror of what happened during the course of that conflict. Only a COMPLETE FOOL would equate those two things.

80 years ago today that Nazi Germany invaded Poland, btw. What happened in Eastern Europe after that dwarfed the suffering and deaths we always hear about from an Anglocentric perspective.

Sad to see you show a lack of comprehension of most points. Resorting to shouting and name-calling reveals your frothing at the mouth moments, rather than considering that making glib asides about the war being over may be insensitive to some who are still yet to forgive and forget.

Equate that fella, or do I need to capitalise it for you.

This thread makes me yearn for the glory days of the MB. It's so sad that it's ended up like this.

I was using capitals to highligh the essential points as I thought, wrongly as it turns out, that it might aid your understanding. The statement that the second world war is over is simple fact. I did mention that this is different from forgetting what happened during it but it doesn't suit your idiotic discourse to recognise that.

Anyway, as I said if you want to put me in touch with these friends, on whose behalf you are so outraged, I'd be happy to discuss it direct.
