Judd or Ling v Salford
Quick poll - who do you think should start tomorrow?
Other than being responsible for the goal, I thought Ling started ok last week. His first touch was positive, opening his body forwards rather than retreating as he normally does and even got some crosses in, one of which was actually a good one that Angol should have done better with. He was unfortunate to take the whack in the face when he did.
But when Myles came on, he showed us the tenacity and positivity we’ve been missing. In my mind, Judy done enough to keep the spot and be given a run of games to show what he can do.
Judd for me.

Re: Judd or Ling v Salford
The only way Ling will miss out this season is if he is unfit I feel.
Seems heavily unlikely he will be dropped for the next game, after all Ross thinks he is outstanding and he has a supposed telepathic link up down the right hand side. Whilst his job is still in the balance, why risk something to displease the boss for a small upside? I do believe he wants the job, if he can do well here the sky is the limit, he still has a whole manager's career in front of him.
Ling is in a real sweet spot, as long as his performances do not drop under 5/10 he'll be OK, as we'll have a perpetual situation where 'Judd hasn't done anything to earn a spot'. To be fair though, I think its not just him in that situation. I don't see any of Turley, Ogie, Gorman, Alabi, Harrold getting in the side for a run of games at the expense of their first team counterparts unless something really goes wrong.
A little bit harsh on those lads but the only way they will get a run of games is in the case of injury, or he comes in for one match and puts in an undroppable performance.

Turley.
I think Ling is much better in a back four but away from home, I think Judd is a better defender and is more aggressive. They have some monsters in their team and we need that. Judd.

Ling for me. I thought last season he was a liability, but he has started well this season. Of course he can't cross, but as a full back, he deserves the spot.
Where was Judd for Crawley's third goal? The facto that Palmer was completely unmarked was probably Ekpiteta's fault in the main, but I don't think Judd was anywhere near.

You're blaming Judd even though you acknowledge it was Ekpiteta's mistake?bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:24 am Ling for me. I thought last season he was a liability, but he has started well this season. Of course he can't cross, but as a full back, he deserves the spot.

Another in the queue for the Ling gloryhole.

They may even both play, if Widdowson is not fit, with Brophy on the bench as an attacking option if needed.

Hopefully Ogie gets a chance if Widdowson is still out. Whoever it is, it should be brophy.

In a straight choice, Ling for me since we're away from home. Especially as we may have Brophy at left back.
Had this been Salford at home with Widdowson at left back I may have swung towards Judd.

Is Turley still injured ?
If not, he should get a chance soon, perhaps off the bench at first until he regains match fitness.

Have you even seen their 3rd goal?bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:24 am Ling for me. I thought last season he was a liability, but he has started well this season. Of course he can't cross, but as a full back, he deserves the spot.

Judd is inside of Marvin marking his own man. I love Marv but that goal was his fault all day long, first with that piss poor clearance then letting Palmer drift off the back of him.

Agree Marv should have done better , he doesn't seem to be the same player this seasonCreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 10:24 amHave you even seen their 3rd goal?bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:24 am Ling for me. I'm simply saying that he was no where near and as a right back, I would have expected him to be.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:27 amYou're blaming Judd even though you acknowledge it was Ekpiteta's mistake?bobo66 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 9:24 am Ling for me.
