Let’s call the show the Ling love in. No effort spared to erase the previous comments made.

Not even 3 mins in and Dave Victor is praising Ling's link up with a bloke who was playing on the left hand side. Be honest, how much have the club paid Dave Victor to talk this wibble on your show?

EDIT: Another couple of minutes on and another one is talking about the telepathy of Ling and Dennis. Unbelievable.

Then the host starts wittering on about telepathy between Dennis and Ling and how it all changed for the worse when Ling went off. 😂

Absolute tosh, blatant arse licking. This situation is getting ridiculous.

Agreed. This should be a complete embarrassment for all concerned.

I was far too shy to use the term arse licking but it fits the situation. I’m obviously getting senile in my old age but I didn’t pick up the telepathic link up between Ling and Dennis. Specsavers here I come. Oh hang on, got my new glasses last month, better take them back.

Now Cox and Daniels, that was good. Soon to be replaced by Ling and Dennis.

Sam Ling for England. Da dah.... da dah dah.

Dennis was great, no doubt. Very exciting.

To try and attribute that to Ling is hilarious.

Disappointed at Dave Victor. He knew what he was doing.

Clearly it was on the shows conscience, but trying to even things up like this is about as poor as a ref giving a team a bad decision for a penalty just because he made an error giving the opposition one earlier.

Just a joke really. I don't really have a problem with the way Ling has started the season - a couple of good performances, a couple of average ones, but he hasn't been outstanding in my view like Ross has said and certainly not worthy of all this comment, just as how other players had OK starts to the season and not a word has been said about them.

It's only happened because of Dickenson, who was entitled to his own opinion but somehow has exploded into a diplomatic issue.

Treating fans like idiots, it would be better to just draw a line under it now.

To be fair, I’m sure the club have. It’s others that are dragging this out.

I have listened to the playback and during the first few mins Sam was mentioned favourably, I can't answer for others but I only commented on his performance last week where he did in my opinion link up well with Dennis, and his departure coincided with Dennis being less involved. I understand some couod view that as an attempt to even things up ,but i can honestly say Darin and myself pre show were discussing things and he said he disagreed with last weeks comment and thought Sam had been good this season. He merely repeated that on air. We are all entitled to a view, you are welcone on the show to put yours, just message me and i will arrange. The only point anyone was upset about last week was the terminology used, not the actual point of view.
For the majority of the show in which we discussed the EFL and Bury amongst other things, I thought it went well. But if you wish to have a fixation on the Ling comment then there's not a lot anyone can do about it.

Dennis played on the left, Ling played at right back. How did they 'link up well'?

I agree that the terminology used last week was sloppy but he was speaking as a fan, not a media trained ex-pro on Sky Sports. No one thought that Ling would have to defend well to save his life one day.

TBF Dennis did start on the right and Ling and him 'linked up' albeit, Ling passed to him and he beat 3 players...Dennis moved around the front 3 in the second half.

This show is a bit of a joke and has been for a long time, but Ling and Dennis were working well together until the change, and Judd didn't work as well with Dennis from then on. It would certainly be an exaggeration to say it was 'telepathic', in the same way that saying Ling 'can't defend for his life' would be too.

This whole situation has become quite ridiculous and to be honest it hasn't really been the doing of any of the people involved. It seems to me that certain characters are overly worried about upsetting the club and by trying to make up for that have made themselves look quite silly. I can understand that and I think it is well intentioned, but one knee jerk reaction is not fixed by another.

You're entitled to your view with regard to the overall quality of the show.
All I know is listening figures are up on last season ,so we can't be doing everything wrong .
If you would like to take part or have serious suggestions on future content then please message me. Thanks.

Hi Andy. I wasn't referring to the content of the show, I haven't listened in since 2017 before the current ownership were at the club. I like that there are dedicated radio shows and podcasts about Orient, but I do worry that in an attempt to gain access to the club or to 'keep them sweet', they have lost their true independence. Thank you for your offer, but I'm far too busy at the moment I'm afraid.

Thanks for the comments.
The show is there to broadly be a positive and supportive vehicle ,however we will offer criticism if it seems fit. It's just that criticism needs to be constructive .obviously slating people would no doubt prove popular with some board members but would obviously make it difficult to get guests to come on. So it's a halfway house between happy Clappy and over critical. I think overall it's pretty balanced.
But as I've said if you have constructive suggestions they will be noted.
Thanks.

That's what everyone wants. If I wanted to just hear how great everything at Orient is I'd listen to Orient Outlook. The problem is to be as objective as possible you have to remove that link and be independent, even if it does sacrifice relations with the club. I'd listen to something that gave honest opinions- not saying you don't- but why would I waste my time hearing anything else.

To be honest, as someone who socialises with other Orient fans, I don't need these shows in my life as if I want to chew the fat or hear an opinion I find interesting I'll go for a pint with them or give them a ring. On this, I appreciate the job that these shows do for exiled fans, and as I said before the last time I listened was 2017 when I was away at university, so they definitely have their place- they just need to be worth listening to.

Being supportive of the club is welcomed and one thing - following an agenda of overt propaganda is another.
