Is REG injured? If so I wonder whether he might play Clare at CB, and Williams at right back. I love Prats but I wouldn’t put him at centre back. Time will tell.

I do laugh when I see posts that say 'once we get everyone fit' It just never happens!
There doesn't appear to anyone at Youth level ready to step up in an emergency?

Ten games in five weeks has taken its toll on our players.

f*cking mental really.

I get it but most of those feel like a rush back from injury could be to blame

Especially when Wellens-Ball replies so heavily on fitness and being aggressive.

Maybe put Jordan Brown in there. Done well when he had to fill in there before. Maybe even put Sweeney at LB and Currie in at CB? I believe Richie said when he first signed that he could play anywhere along the back line.

I've only just noticed that there's chat on here about Happe being injured again.... This is an organised group wind up, yes?

Totally agree, when we get new investors I expect it to stop immediately and we will only sign quality, proven players at Championship level or above.

Indeed, something needs to change between recruitment, training and fitness / conditioning as it seems to be a regular story now. No point signing players that are quality on paper but only available half the season, just ends up burning out the ones that are left to carry the load.

Saw an interesting discussion on the other board about the effects of switching between training pitch and hybrid pitch, potentially could be something in that?

Have any of our loanees had an injury this season? Feels like it's only been permanent players, which probably comes down to our tendancy to sign good players with bad injury histories.

Are there any stats which shows that we have had more injuries than other clubs this season?

I think the amount of injuries are in part due to Richies preferred style of play, High press with intensity demands a lot of the players.
Kelman playing 50 + games so far this season is testament to his fitness he really puts in a shift but it takes its toll even on our defenders.

Bang on re high press with intensity.
That is why we must stop signing players like Ball, Graham, DJ etc who come either unfit or with recent history of injuries. It really is a false economy.
Same goes for resigning players with long injury records, we ain’t a charity, fine to show compassion and care, but we can’t tie ourselves into contracts which rebound on us. I wouldn’t give Beckles a two year contract, for example. One year max.

Are we really that intense? Only truly been impressed with our pressing in the Peterborough home game

I think I can remember Richie saying something about our training ground could be contributing to our injury problems . He might be on to something because since Paul Smyth rejoined QPR he’s hardly been injured. Being a Championship club I would imagine their training facilities are better than ours. My QPR supporting mate at work keeps mentioning about how often Smyth has played for them since he’s been back.
