Makes his loan move to Ebbsfleet permanent. His time here was finished that afternoon he got subbed on and subbed off again at Burton. Oddly enough that was the same afternoon which ended Graham’s time here as well (and potentially his career).

Good luck to him. He never fulfilled his potential at Orient, but played an important part in the promotion season.

Exactly.
However, first match back in L1, he took and scored our first penalty for - god knows how many seasons - thanks for that George and the courage to trumpet your faith in today's society.

I’ll miss him. Fantastic feet and a big character but unfortunately couldn’t ever get fully fit.

An enigma in a similar bracket to Sean Thornton with so much ability and football brain yet lacking something in committment to the fitness side. It's crazy to see him headed towards NL South yet also unsurprising.
As others said above his value was in our title season, that goal against Wimbledon to put an end to our sticky spell in December was huge.
Best wishes for the future George.

Or anywhere, really.
From the championship to NL South in 3 seasons is some going.

The idea that Moncur is anywhere near Thorntons ability is way wrong.

I'll always maintain that catching covid damaged his lungs . After that he could never get his fitness back . I wish him well and good luck at Ebbsfleet .

Thanks Doc. Was he ever fully fit pre Covid?

One of those players that developed as he matured into his 20's into a physique that does not make for a top level footballer. Probably developed a lack of self-control around the calories, which in turn affected his physical ability. A great shame because his skills should have taken him much further.
Whilst we won't remember too many of his magic moments, his enigmatic smile and the togetherness he brought to the dressing room will last a generation. After all, he's the man that gave us Wagon Wheel.

Not making a direct comparison of their abilities, rather that both had the skill to play at higher level for longer if not for their fitness / other issues

I watched him play for Ebbsfleet today. Nice touch, didn’t stand out. Scored an excellent free kick. Subbed after 70 mins.
After scoring he ran around showing his belly to the opposition (Aldershot) fans, an odd one as they had a midfielder at least one shirt size larger than Moncur.

Glad he’s gone. All of his failings were of his own making. Biggest earner and didn’t bother doing the basics needed of a pro footballer and took the piss out of us.

JB (the Shots 10) is just short for his weight, that’s all. Moncs definitely wears a larger shirt size.
