Thought Henderson had retired. Hilarious.
Morgan Gibbs White's exclusion is bizarre.

Give a bloke a short contract and get short-termism.

As long as we qualify, as a first step.

Tuchel has already made himself unpopular, before a ball has been kicked.
Henderson is just clueless, is he picking this squad, because he wants England to fail

Walker should be retired.
You could have asked 100 people in the street to pick their England squad, and I am almost 100% sure, no one would have included Henderson.
Also ask the same 100 people and I am sure at least 80-90% of them would have included Morgan Gibbs-White
Why Walker?
Pick Jed Spence, Walker is finished.
Why 4 GK's?
Pick 3 and add someone like Delap or Nwaneri for experience.

Wharton? Braithwaite? Lewis-Skelly? Nwaneri? Jeez, I'm even more out of touch with the English Premier League than I realised (assuming that's where they play)

Not justifying Hendersons selection at all as I think Wharton should have been picked but him aside only really Elliot Anderson springs to mind for players that play a CM role. Gomes potentially but not that up on French football.
Gibbs-White is incredibly unlucky not to get a call up as is Wan-Bissaka. Maybe Nike have no hyphens

Tuchel is German. He wants Germany to win the World Cup. That can be the only reason for including Hendo and Walker

Listening to Tuchel speak re: Henderson I think it is a sensible addition 100%. You can see why he is there. He has played regularly for Ajax this season, on the way to a probable title this year and will be a positive influence on the younger players. He is one of the most decorated players in the squad. He may not feature regularly and this is only the first squad, I don’t think he’ll let anyone down intentionally. This sort of senior squad role, with potentially limited playing time, was most recently delegated to the likes of Conor Coady. No slight on him but Henderson is an upgrade in that role.

Along with Gibbs White, I am sure Connor Gallagher is probably loving Henderson being picked ahead of him...

Struggling to care at the moment but some of those picks are a bit odd and the defence looks piss weak/inexperienced, Walker aside.

Coady was there because there's bugger all decent alternatives in that position, nothing to do with him being the experienced older head. How many caps has he even got?
It's a daft call and reeks of managers of the past picking big names from big clubs, ignoring form and those at the little clubs.

Conor Coady has 10 caps, Jordan Henderson has 81. Bags more experience to fit the bill as the experienced head then.
As for daft call, ‘manager appointed to win high profile games and trophy, selects player who has won high pressure games and trophies shock horror’.
This is the first squad, it remains to be seen whether Henderson will have a prominent role going towards the World Cup but Tuchel obviously sees a skill set that can benefit this early iteration of his England team.

Wharton plays for Crystal Palace Braithwaite for Everton and the other two play for Arsenal.

Never heard of half of them. At least Henderson is a familiar face (to me). I won’t be watching.

Don't watch England, I'd pull the curtains if they were playing in my back garden!! They're as boring as watching paint dry!!

I support Leyton Orient.
Henderson comes in for unfair criticism in my opinion. He was daft to go to Saudi.
What is it that people don’t like about him?

The fact that he’s 34 years old
Spent last 2 years playing in Saudi and Dutch leagues
And more importantly, he’s not good enough!
hopefully he won’t play in either game, and just end up warming the bench.
Can you honestly say he is better than the list of players below not in squad.
Morgan Gibbs White
Conor Gallagher
Adam Warton
Angel Gomes
Kobee Mainoo
Elliot Anderson

Many (not necessarily on here, but many) said Southgate was the barrier to England sweeping all before them.
The masses got their wish and the new messiah is in place, (Tuchel) and he's getting daggers before a ball has even been kicked.
The England football manager is the national punch-bag and no mistake. Gets far more stick than our inept "leaders"..

I think MGW is hard done by to not make this squad. He will make future squads. People were quite disappointed with Conor Gallagher being picked by Southgate or introduced from the bench so seems strange he’s now in demand.
Of the others mentioned I think Jordan Henderson has one key thing they don’t. Experience and proven leadership ability. He is there to play a specific role, as outlined by Tuchel earlier. So the question is really are the players you’ve listed better than Rice, Eze, Bellingham, Jones, Palmer or Rogers?
