Eleven season defining days

Four defeats in 11 days have ended our season in my view. Too many injuries to defenders & too many games in too short a period have taken their toll
For those of us who disagree, consider the following:
Birmingham, Wycombe, Wrexham & arguably Stockport are too far ahead of us. That only leaves 2 play off positions up for grabs.
Charlton are 6 poins clear of us with a game in hand & currently in very good form.
Bolton are a number of points ahead with a game in hand & in similarly good form.
Huddersfield are 5 points clear from the same number of games.
The one bright spot is our goal difference.
There is only 1 scenario which will make me revise my opinion & it is this:
We win the next 4 - Northampton, Blackpool, Mansfield & Stevenage. Do this & we might just be back in contention but it's a tough ask.
So sadly, our play off ambitions are almost certainly not achievable I hope I'm wrong & if I am wrong then I'd be delighted to be reminded.

We always flatter to deceive and miss out as per normal

We saw how quickly we went up the table, we can just as easily hit another purple patch and climb up the table. It will be difficult but never write us off under Richie.

Seems like most folk can’t wait to write us off
Let’s get three points on Saturday and just see where the next 11 games take us.
We’ve done incredibly well from when we were in a relegation spot. No reason why we can’t put another run together.

I find the way so many Orient fans are so quick to write us off very depressing. It’s no wonder Richie despairs so much at the ‘Little Leyton Orient’ attitude.

We are 7 months into the season and for 3 and a half of them (half) we were the best team in the division. We’ve had an injury crisis and lost 4 games. Birmingham was a joke and the other 3 we really should’ve and could’ve got points out of.

I think this team is, without question, in the top 6 in the league so I’m optimistic we will make the playoffs and I’ll be fully backing us until it’s mathematically impossible.

I like being Little Leyton Orient, that's what makes up who we are. Plenty of other local teams if you want another type of club

I’m happy with us being a small club too thanks. But I appreciate a good team when I see it.

I'm being realistic about the situation we're currently in. I think it's been a good season but we're very likely to miss out for the reasons explained. Let's see what happens & if we make top 6 then I will be very proud of the team

We've made it hard for ourselves and we obviously need to get out of this slump, but we have enough in our manager and team to make another run. The end of season always sees strange results. Stockport and Huddersfield aren't in particularly good form either.

Just think, if we win sat and 2 above lose its 3 points outside the playoffs and all of a sudden looks achievable, and that's one game.

There will be some more twists and turns, mark my words.

I despise the "little Leyton Orient" tag and it's not that being the reason I'm more on the "it's probably done" side of the fence.

Losing 4 games is one thing but two of those being to our closest rivals for that 6th place spot is the kicker. Still haven't quite fathomed how that Charlton game got away from us, lord knows how it felt within the squad.

The Currie red was a massive turning point, properly stiffed over by the ref, FA and PGMOL on that one

Unless Beckles and Happe are going to come back into the side on the next week, the game is up. Unless we change the way we play, which Richie seems reluctant to do.

We haven’t just randomly lost form, the performances and results have dipped for obvious reasons.

The Man City game moving the Wrexham game is what done for us.

If we win tomorrow we will have 56 points. Oxford United had 57 points at that stage last season (36 games).

Come on, there is still a chance ;).

Have to agree - it's not a case of writing us off it's simply being realistic. We'd all love to make the play offs but our understrength defence, combined with our current inability to score a few goals in a game is hampering us.

Well, not really. Point proven. Win and we’d be back in the race, lose and we’d be effectively out of it.

Good to see you taking pleasure in our season going down the pan though.

Oh yeah I love losing games, you know for me it's all about the taking part and community club ethos
