I know it was St David’s Day and all, but I really thought his (and his bench’s) reaction was OTT. Seems like some punters in the West Stand might have fired them up https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/n ... -comeback/

Whoever is abusing the away bench needs to give their heads a wobble, all it does is to galvenise the team to shut them up.

Can’t blame the bloke. Some fans dish it out relentlessly and then lose their heads when they got a little bit back.

Most of us would do the same in Jones’ position.

Don’t think anyone sits near the away dugout that would act inappropriately

If he was being insulted and abused then I don't blame him at all for going nuts at their winner.

I'd be going nuts even if I hadn't been insulted..

When we scored a few fans from the West Stand approached the away bench ‘giving it large’ so you must expect Jones and his team to celebrate when they scored.
Having said that, Jones was berating the poor 4th official at most things that didn’t go their way and was acting aggressively for most of the game.

Charlton players were absolute fannies when they scored their second. Really bizarre.

Just the norm for players to do the cringey shhh when they score. See some players doing it to their own fans

Yeah. I get that they were chuffed but that was by a massive margin the biggest “in your face ner ner ner ner ner” from an away side a Brisbane Road for many a year.

Bloke is a village idiot. Can't take a bit of abuse oh didums. Should not be in football then. No wonder he failed at Stoke & Southampton & is back in the lower divs. He can do one. Small man syndrome, moaning on tv about a few Orient fans.

Home fans wins up away team
Away team snatch a win last minute
Away team goads home team

Colour me shocked... that's football and we'd do exactly the same if boot was on the other foot against Rotherham on Tuesday

Did the home fans wind up the away team?

That’s football, innit. Sometimes you just have to sit there and eat a bucket of sh*t. Not much you can do about it. On another day it’ll be you in the away end celebrating a last minute winner.

I like to think that over the course of a lifetime it all balances itself out.

The fact that Mr.Jones has stated that
he received “constant abuse for 90
mins” ..
Surely if he felt the abuse had crossed
the line why didn’t he report it to our
tunnel security team who could have
prevented the abuse from continuing??
As a club we’d have had a moral
obligation for the scrutiny/safety of the
visiting side ..
Personally I feel that Mr. Jones has an
abundance of passion and loves to keep
his clubs fan base onside ..
But if we remember correctly this is
the Cardiff born manager who’s
overzealous celebrations when his
Luton won at Swansea and he felt it ok
to climb into the away end for his
over the top celebrations was ok ..

They acted like they'd just won promotion or the Cup. Pretty small time since they'd just about beaten Leyton Orient.

I’m not calling him a liar but….

The ground was pretty silent all Saturday. I didn’t hear anything coming from that section of the ground. And when it does go a bit Off around the dugouts, it’s usually visible as well as audible.

Hope this doesn’t come back to bite him and his players on the bum in the play offs.

I sit about 10 rows back from a certain fanzine editor and he was giving it to the bench all through the game. Although Jones just turned round and smiled at him most of the game. What made some fans rust to the dugout when we scored, I have no idea

He's a properly weird bloke. Richie made a comment in an interview recently where he said he never overdid it in the celebrations when we won, because he wanted to keep the players grounded and make sure the highs were never too high, as it helped manage the lows when we lost.

Maybe it's cod psychology, but Jones has completely burnt out at a couple of clubs for a reason. That level of intensity and emotion doesn't feel like a recipe for sustained long term success.

I also sit in the West Stand & on one occasion I had the misfortune to be sitting near R***r. It was a pretty constant stream of abuse of the oppo/ referee, awful behaviour. But as has been said, I think it can galvanise our opponents.
I wish people would report him, as I should have done on that occasion. He needs to be ejected from the ground.

Aah fair enough. Should have guessed.

What's his issue with Nathan Jones? Have we any 'previous' with him? (I don't know the bloke).

surely fans can shout as long as not racist, religion based. Managers should ignore it and focus on the match. Can you imagine Conte, Mourinho moaning about a couple of fans?

Love seeing fans who dish it out for 90 minutes and then howl in outrage when the player or manager turn round and gives a bit back.

If you can't take it, don't give it.

Not seen any evidence of that here? (But I do agree with the sentiment).
