He was certainly shocking in the first half as our defence performed wonders keeping Charlton out
Perkins probably got a bollocking at HT and he did improve, showing some nice touches but he can’t start games as he did today

There were again some lovely moments of skill from him throughout. He can drop a shoulder, throw 3 opponents the wrong way and emerge with the ball.

But there were too many 50:50s where he just didn’t compete for the ball and too many moments where he lost the ball cheaply, He hasn’t made the step up fully to men’s football like Donley has.

And when the game had turned into that sort of game, and he was playing how he was playing, it’s crazy he stayed out there for 80 minutes.

Whilst he has good close control of the ball, & from time to time he can pick out a decent pass, he lacks so much in my opinion.

He has zero pace. Ive rarely seen a forward with such little pace. I dont think ive ever seen him head a ball either. He cant run with the ball, like say Dan A. Kelman, Galbraith etc

He's very limited, & think a mistake to sign him until June 30th 2027

Was surprised at how late all the changes were, considering how the game was going. It was not much fun to watch, even when we were ahead.

Wellens gambled that we could scrape to a win whilst saving the legs of Agyei, Abdulai, Williams and Ball. He was wrong.

He also didn’t factor in he was flogging the likes of Galbraith, Donley, Brown and Pratley to death.

We should probably trust Richie's judgement considering all the players he has developed - he said that Perkins will become a really good player in the future - with the right coaching. He is only 21 and based of the glimpses we've seen, we could have a real player on our hands, especially considering how highly he was rated at west ham and leeds

Maybe. Look at Dan Kemp now he is older.

Perkins is too easily knocked off the ball . He needs to do some weight training and bulk up

Good feet and intelligence, but needs to realise there's no-one to do fetching and carrying For him, in L1

Needs more time to develop to the rigours of L1, and perhaps physically too.

I'm not knocking the bloke - far from it, he's a young player and clearly needs more time but if this was Championsip Manager he'd have decent attributes but 3 (out of 20) aggression and he needs to work on that to succeed at this level (or likely any level).

I do trust Wellens to know what he's doing with him though..

The problem is he is two years behind where he should be as since about 16, he has started about ten mens games at best, he is an example of being at big teams, never playing, never going out on loan bar a failed spell at Oxford last season, he is needs another 40 games of mens football under his belt to really judge him properly

Yes he needs more game time to toughen up and mature but he is far from unique in that. Donley was exactly the same when he arrived (there's only 12 months between them) but he got up to speed much quicker. OON is a year older and hadn't had football league experience before he came here, but was pretty much ready to roll at this level.

Saying he's 2 years behind where he should be is a bit of a stretch.
