I'm confused. He says the ref has admitted he got it wrong. He also says the card hasn't been overturned, so presumably we have appealed already?

I don’t get it either , head of PGMOL Howard Webb says not a red, as does Mike Riley head of league referees, the referee himself admits it was a Mistake yet it’s not been overturned
Something isn’t right here!

On the other board someone said it is because the ref is not a member of PGMOL, which makes no sense

The ref already had a red card over turned as pointed out on here.

Having watched the interview I think Wellans meant Howard Webb was not on the disciplinary committee, even though he is head of PGMOL

So is that suggesting the disciplinary committee are upholding the red despite the referee admitting it as a mistake?

Nice to see Birmingham only had to play against 10 for half of today’s game too.
Must be nice to have friends in high places.
