It's all very well getting one right on UC. But the real test is getting one right on Only Connect (not including the missing vowels round). And yes, you must say it out loud.

I wouldn't have got that right either. I thought Carlisle had a fox on their club badge. On checking, I see that they ditched that in 1995! Nobody thought to tell me.

I still get annoyed at UC when they ask questions about Greek mythology or Ancient Rome.

I quite often get 2 questions correct but they're usually the popular music ones.

Nope. We insist on real-time as getting just one line of connections under the time pressure is a ego boost.

It's "Quiz Night Monday" in our house. I'm just glad it's on a Monday as, any later in the week and I'd be too knackered to manage the meagre results I currently muster.

No, no, nothing absurd about that. House of Games is a nice warm-up. Plus, if you switch over to U&Dave after UC, you can catch repeats of House of Games as a warm-down.

My Dad was on it back in the Bamber days - say 84/85 or so - he captained Imperial College to the Final (they came second). He was a mature student so didn't get much fan mail. He loved it.

Doesn't mention it much - tbh probably doesn't remember it now

People get fan mail? Holding on to a faint hope that there's a mail bag kicking around somewhere at the BBC/Granada Studios that they've just forgotten to pass on.
