blackburn interest in richie
Apparently Richie is one of the first names on Blackburn's shortlist, I know richie said that he wanted to take us up, but woth blackburn in a playoff spot jn the championship and with a decent chance of playing in the premier league next year, would richie be tempted. Also the buyout for Richie is allegedly 250,000, knowing the Venkys they wouldnt want to pay that

Re: blackburn interest in richie
Is Wellens’ buy out really only 250k? That seems incredibly low considering he’s the single most important person at the club right now.

He's currently fifth in the betting, Carsley favourite, Gerrard also ahead of Richie.

He won't go there. the previous manager left because of the owners not fulfilling their promises.

Re: blackburn interest in richie
This , there is something not right behind the scene at Blackburn . Why would Eustace leave Blackburn on the brink of the play offs for a relegation battle at Derby . I know money talks but it still doesn't feel right .Top of the JES wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:39 am He won't go there. the previous manager left because of the owners not fulfilling their promises.

Hopefully it won't be for a very long time yet bet Richie will go at some point in the end . However it won't be to Blackburn .

What a load of rubbish . There’s no way he would be interested in in a job like that. The bookies are going to put his name against any managerless club.Where did you get information regarding his buyout clause . Only himself and the board know this.DelightInE10 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 11:07 am Apparently Richie is one of the first names on Blackburn's shortlist, I know richie said that he wanted to take us up, but woth blackburn in a playoff spot jn the championship and with a decent chance of playing in the premier league next year, would richie be tempted. Don’t always believe what you read in newspaper reports . Especially this reporter where most times they get it wrongDelightInE10 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 3:19 pmhttps://the72.co.uk/2025/02/16/blackbur ... s-demands/moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 2:27 pmWhat a load of rubbish . Re: blackburn interest in richie
I can believe the buyout clause, RW had the upper hand in contact negotiations last summer so wouldn't want too high a fee if he wanted to move onwards and upwards.
That said Blackburn under Venkys isn't one for future job stability, probably better for a journeyman manager looking for a nice pension pot.
With all he's achieved here I reckon Richie will want to give it his best shot at getting to the Championship with us. If we don't make it to the promised land and he decides to move on in summer rather than face another big squad rebuild then fair do's.
In the best timeline both club and manager march onwards and upwards together

Re: blackburn interest in richie
I'll answer you question with a question - why did Eustace leave?
Or rather, why did Eustace leave a team looking at the play-offs to take up a relegation battle in the same division?

No Idea, haven't been following blackburn hence the question. On paper (ex prem team with a decent foundation) it sounds like a good opportunity.

Re: blackburn interest in richie
Broken promises and lack of support from the board. If Eustace feels that he can achieve more with Derby than Blackburn over the next couple of seasons, it really indicates the problems at Rovers.

Re: blackburn interest in richie
I’ve no idea if there’s any truth in it or not but my fabricated mate lives in Blackburn for the purposes of this skit and he said he saw Wellens coming out of Roger’s Wigs (Lancs) Ltd on Blackburn High Street yesterday afternoon…..
