Lincoln’s Collins

Post by Hoover Attack »

After scoring their equaliser, not only does he ‘give it’ to the Family Stand, he then proceeds to saunter down the East Stand and ‘give it’ to the section in which that tragedy happened in the game against them last season.

Absolute c*nt.

Maybe he wasn’t aware of the tragedy as he was probably at Derby then.
I think Kelman and Brown did something similar after our 3rd to the away fans
I don’t really like it as incites fans

Didn't he just sign from Derby?

Orient were apparently interested.

Looks like for the 3rd Kelman and Brown goaded the Lincoln fans at the end too

Not manufacturing outrage, just pointing out he’s a c*nt.

What does "give it" mean in this context and how it relates to the tragic event in the initial Lincoln home game last year?

I’d be very surprised if it was intentional. Anyway, he can give it all he wants, he still had a long coach journey home having been humbled by the Orient.

Funnily enough I thought their number 7 was a top bloke. He reacted immediately when James went down and genuinely looked concerned for him. Consoled him until the medical staff came on and just generally handled the situation very well. Clearly he has empathy for a fellow professional.

I don’t know if he’s the same bloke but I remember a Lincoln player looking extremely uncomfortable and reluctant to restart play during the debacle surrounding the tragedy last season. These players are still human beings. Well some of them anyway.

You don't think Orient players would do something similar?
And citing last seasons tragedy and presuming he had this on his mind when celebrating is just stupid.
Calling him a c--- as well! You need to calm down.

He also gave it to the Family Stand after scoring in the shootout for Derby last month. This was shortly after it was revealed we were in for him. Makes you wonder what went on to get him beefing like this.

Yep, was standout strange behaviour at the Derby game.

Didn’t realise it was him from the Derby game.

Their manager was here 13 months ago. So were most of their players, I assume. He should have been made aware. It was proper c*ntish behaviour.

Players should be given an annotated map of the ground they’re playing in, so they can be sure to not commit an etiquette faux pas when scoring a goal.

No response to this key question. What do you define as ‘giving it’?

Whatever answer you eventually give, can we expect you to hold our own noble warriors to the same standard or is it just for the visiting heathens?

Or, for ease, just don’t be a c*nt full stop.

I can’t believe I’m the only one who thinks it’s out of order that a player gives it to the exact same section of the crowd in which one of our own died against them just last year. 🥲

Celebrating to the home fans.

I don’t generally see the point unless there’s been some previous. Kelman doing it to Lincoln yesterday was totally unnecessary (unless it was in response to Collins). But because of the circumstances, Collins reaction was totally over the line.

But it doesn’t matter.
There’s no link between celebrating a goal and a fan dying a year ago. It’s not like he had a slogan on his t-shirt mocking a dead fan.

At the risk of stating the obvious, giving it some to the crowd is just pantomime stuff, and - as with the result yesterday - can result in very funny instant karma.

Bemused that Kev Gilet has taken this stance tbh

I love it when a players from the visiting team "gives it" to the home fans. Both for the prospect of funny instant karma and to witness the fans around you take the bait and go apoplectic.

Image the sheer LOLs of sitting near OFF when this happens.

I love players that wind up fans. Players get called all sorts and many of the mindless stuff thats dished out would end up with the perpetrators getting their collars felt. Fair play to any player that gives a little back.

Yup, I imagine Collins’s first thought after scoring was “I know, I run over to the spot where that bloke died last year when I wasn’t at the club and desecrate his memory”.

What a strange take.
