You know the ones. The ones that usually for nostalgic reasons make you sigh with overwhelming ennui.
What ones suck the life out of you when you know you have to go there?
Charlton does it for me not a patch on the gigantism of the Old Valley.
Hampden does too but that's because most of the time I go there it's to witness a defeat.
Coming soon in this exciting new series: Football Grounds I Miss.

The super-duper space age stadiums leave me cold and I'm never excited to go to one. Have done the stadium of tours of several in Europe, then ask myself, why? After all, there just all big bowls with seats and a roof. Give me the old Molineux, Dell or Tyncastle anytime. Always preferred standing at a game and if there was a shed, then so much the better

Orient. I yearn for the days before Hearn. But then I am old....

Yeah, Brisbane Road is a disappointment. Anyone I know, who attends as a visiting fan, always comments on it.

Id have thought as an away fan it's pretty decent. East stand retains noise really well and it's an old fashioned stand away fans tend to love, plus I'd argue we're better served by good pubs than 90% of other teams. Granted no idea how bad the bogs and bars must be there.
The three new builds are unbelievably rubbish though and mean I wouldn't be overly gutted about leaving, memories notwithstanding.

Hillsborough. Not sure why but I know I've been yet have absolutely zero recollection of it despite not being drunk so obviously didn't leave an impression.

All the old wooden stands in the Highland League have gone now as well. Stamping your feet on concrete to make a racket just doesn't work

Old Trafford. Only been once. What a let down. Non existent atmosphere and so many tourists. Id expected great things and it did not deliver. Anfield the same.

Wembley, in all its guises (except when I saw Bowie play there)

Having experienced and enjoyed an FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, to describe my first trip to the new Wembley when it opened as a disappointment would be an understatement.

Interesting. Have tackety bits gone out of fashion up there?

The Millennium is quality and really well situated.

Another vote for Wembley.
Awful, and in an awkward part of London that is a total hole.

Well, they're tackety beets in these parts. Still worn universally. They create sparks in the concrete stands but not much noise
