According to Pete O’Rourke Swansea eyeing a move for him
Be a disaster if he goes now

The one thing in our favour might be he keeps playing right back, for us it is working wonders and credit to Wellens but I can't see anyone else playing him there

We should put a price tag of at least a million on him to frighten them off

Spare change for a championship club?

I would rather we lost Ethan in the Summer for nothing and went for the play offs rather than cash in on him now .. We won't achieve anything by selling our best players all the time .

Never a disaster. Might have been why we paid a fee for another midfielder.

Will be a miss for sure but effectively part of our business plan to pick up players like him, develop and sell them. Be happy if we can get a decent fee and a sell on

Fairly certain we have an option for an additional year so he can’t go for free this summer

Was expecting be might be sold this window but club shouldn't be taking any less than a million, potentially more given the extra year option we have on him.

We see smaller clubs than us getting multi millions for lower league players so we need to be greedy as they are.

I think Nigel confirmed that during an Q&A.

Indeed - he’ll be worth even more come the summer. Really can’t see the point in compromising our season for some immediate cash.

This. Letting his contract run down would be stupid, at the end of the day he is an asset and if selling him gets us two more players to strengthen the squad it’s good business.

Ok then , good . He's not for sale if we want a serious pop at promotion .

Indeed, and crucially he came in ready to play and has been an asset all the way through. Those young pros with league experience is the way forward.

I thought Ethan had a slow start with us but improved and improved as time went on.
With the extra year option we are under no pressure to sell him, unless the club feel we could do with funds now to strengthen the side.

Also in the mix covering the £4 million a year loss which, although we'll reduce a bit through the FA Cup TV money and merch still could do with some extra revenue topping up the coffers

That’s not true.

I love Ethan but he took ages to get going.

18 months once you include the 1 year option in the club's favour

I don't know why people get so hung up on securing a transfer fee for a player that didn't cost us anything to sign.

If he gets to the end of his contract and he's developed to such an extent that he can move up a league and earn bigger bucks, effectively having outgrown us, then he goes with my blessing. We just have to go out and find another young out of contract player and repeat the process.
