What? You don’t think the boys read the boards at half time? Ross clearly did. And changed it. He may have read some of the comments out as well. That’s why the players were so motivated to prove is wrong. Well done to the message board I say. The 12th man.

Look what happens when you stop persisting that 532 nonsense.

1 decent half of football does not mean the people who criticise Ling and Embleton are wrong.

Nope but half a season of moaning about 532 & a whole season of moaning at the lack of a decent CM was supposed to mean we blew promotion
according to them.

JE proved them wrong as will Ross ML KT & NT.

Essential too win at home on Saturday to show that tonight’s victory was because of of Ross Embleton or despite him.

Come on you O’s , a great victory tonight .

We were top when we were forced into the 5-3-2 because of the lack of CM cover (injuries to Clay, Lee and McAnuff at the time). Somehow JE made it work just enough to see us over the line but it didn't earn us the points that put us up there in the first place.

It was never the formation to start a new season with and hopefully tonight throws the shackles off our attacking players. They had to throw caution to the wind and go for it tonight, now let's see that on Saturday. Be bold and go out with intention to win the game with the same high intensity that got 3 goals in 45 minutes tonight.

Tonight's victory despite him? We were 2 down. The players could have gone through the motions and not bothered if the manager didn't inspire them?

Absolutely spot on. Orient were very lucky at times with other teams dropping points at the same time.

What frustrated me last season was exactly that. When they sat back, it encouraged other teams and made it hard. When Orient kept the ball down and played attacking football, they could destroy anybody (within reason). There was a mindset and possibly still is that 'playing attacking football doesn't get you promoted'. If Orient carried on with their good football instead of reverting back to the defensive stuff, they'd have sewn the league up by the end of February.

I said it at the same time last season, with these players, 433 is the formation to play. Hopefully Ross carries it on now.

Funny that. When other teams dropped points we were lucky. When we dropped points though we were not good enough.

What's so hard to get your head around? Orient dropped points because they were playing poo poo. Other teams fighting at the top dropped points at the same time, letting Orient off the hook. Lucky.

Saw it wasnt working 3.5 games in & made a change to 433.

Its got f*ck all to do with what a bunch of fans think,
But how staff & players adapt

Just goes to show sometimes the obvious solution is the right one. Don't always need to be a professional manager to see it.

Same as back in the days of Slade's stubborn obsession with the wonky 4-5-1 that he had a similar moment where he was forced to change, which then kickstarted our 2010 (?) cup run and subsequent better form.
