Plays right back as well as midfield. Bench warmer.

Tough tackling holding midfielder. Just what we need.

That’s if he starts, who do you think will make way for him?

Happe maybe if we go 442.

Has anyone asked the pertinent question of whose place he will take in the starting 11 yet?

From the write up, he sounds perfect.....

From the photo, he's littler than Ross.....

Seen plenty of Marshy. Absolutely bizarre signing. Defensive midfielder who gets it and gives it super simple. Doesn't score. Doesn't assist. Doesn't get forward. He's a good young player that Pochettino likes but he's basically Josh Wright minus the occasional pass forward.

He will give us more presence with his height in midfield.

Brilliant. Defensive midfielder, that's all we need.

Said he can play centre-back but on the one Youtube clip out there he looks tiny... surely not.
Would have preferred someone experienced to be fair, think we are lacking leadership on the pitch without Jobi.

Can't see him displacing either Clay or Wright to start, so it'll probably be Gorman's place on the bench which is gone.

No idea on the kid but he has to have been brought in to start games for us.

It's unthinkable if we're going to just carry on as we've started the season.

He has played there for the development side but only in games where the opposition don't have great forwards. He's 5'7" so he definitely cannot be relied upon at centre back.

Let's hope he doesn't get bogged down in midfield.

Clay. If Marsh becomes an integral part of our team I hope we can extend his loan right the way up until the end of the season. My mind goes back to Eldin Jakupovic . He quickly became an important member of our team in 2014. and at a crucial point in our season got recalled by Hull . That really did cost us so I hope the same thing doesn't happen again this time .

Spurs will not be loaning him out to be a bench warmer and you would hope Ross would have already decided where/how he's going to play.

This is probably Ross' first signing (Angol and Dennis were on the radar in January) - so its the first bit of business he can be judged on.

Really, we needed somebody to come in who will be a first team starter. We need something different right now so George Marsh has got to start.

I am sure the Internet was around when Kane and Townsend etc played for us but nothing like the ballyhoo it is now. It is great that the club converses more with fans but there is a balance to find. A few months loan. Macclesfield had 5 of them in their team 2 weeks ago. Maybe I was the only one hoping for a really good signing and to build the team around. It’s possible as I am permanently miserable.

I want to make clear that I like Marsh and that if we needed a holding player (I wouldn't call Marsh a ball winner as such) then he'd have been a very good signing. The fact is that we don't. We needed an offensive midfielder.

Difference was with Jakupovic, he was a internationally capped player in the peak of his career, who had played at levels at least two leagues higher than us for virtually all of it. The chances were heavily loaded in our favour that he was going to be good.

My mind goes back to Zain Westbrooke, who was a technically good footballer from a good academy who had almost zero experience in the real mens game. His style of play was very unsuitable for us, but he joined because at the time we wanted brains over brawn and would not admit our initial playing style was wrong.

I do fear having no other loans spells, the lower League might be a bit of a culture shock. Same could have been said for the likes of Kane, Carroll and M'Poku, but Kane was pretty robust even at at early age, the other two were not but had plenty of skill to balance it out, and also Dawson and Chambers in the midfield to help.

Defensive midfielder who doesn't pass forward , that's not what we needed. We needed a box to box midfielder like Dawson or Vinelot was .
