Re: Wigan fans?
Yes, watching it on TV it seemed that the stand on the far side seemed almost empty.

Lost 11,000 fans on average since they were last in the Prem. Had some shocking seasons recently and were very poorly treated on occasion.

Re: Wigan fans?
Horrible weather and yet another game live on TV, not surprising that the attendance was low.
So much televised Football now, it’s only the Premier League and championship clubs that aren’t affected.

Those 11,000 missing fans were probably just glory hunters. I’d always stick by Orient through thick and thin .MassiveForehead wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 8:27 pm Lost 11,000 fans on average since they were last in the Prem. Had some shocking seasons recently and were very poorly treated on occasion.

Re: Wigan fans?
There's always 1000s of fans when a team's doing well. Look at Brentford and Brighton. I've been to matches at both teams' old grounds when they were in the lower divisions. You could wander in and choose your seat. There are a few clubs where the supporters turn up even in the harder times - Portsmouth for one. Couldn't get near my seat there as I turned up just before kick off. Think 0s have a strong base of loyal fans but we get a lot more in when we're doing well.

Re: Wigan fans?
Wigan's support was ropey even when they were in the PL, there was always tonnes of empty seats, one season their average was 9000 below capacity. The stadium's probably 5000 too big for both tenants.

Re: Wigan fans?
Not exactly true since Athletic's average attendance is often well above the Warriors'.Lifelongfan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:05 pm Rugby League town. Wigan Warriors no 1 in the world, better than the NRL teams

Is that figure actual bums on seats or tickets sold as Leyton Orient do since Devlin arrived

Pretty sure we'd find another 11.000 regulars if we made it to the Premier league.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 5:36 amThose 11,000 missing fans were probably just glory hunters. Getting into the Premiership? No thanks! It’s bad enough with disjointed schedules now.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:40 pm I would start going to games more often if that happened.
Monday evening games, silly ko times stupid money and all for what? We wouldn’t survive more than a season and who wants to be lining the pockets of foreign investors who treat football as a play toy.

Where would they sit, There's no room for 11,00 new supporters.Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:18 pmPretty sure we'd find another 11.000 regulars if we made it to the Premier league.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 5:36 amThose 11,000 missing fans were probably just glory hunters. Re: Wigan fans?
Pretty sure we wouldn't still be playing at Brisbane Road when we're in the Premier League.
