If it weren't for the fact we'd have to play Hemming in goal would give Keeley a run out upfront, cracking header

Clearly Oldhams goal didn't touch anyone
I’d say that too. The ref didn’t know what had happened IMO and gave the goal only because of the Oldham celebrations and our players half hearted objections.

I might be wrong but there are some baffling decisions amongst those. Does anyone touch the throw in for Oldhams goal? How on earth was Beckles goal given offside? How is that not a penalty on Pratley?
O'Neils set pieces were excellent today, one of the few positives.

That ref was f*cking awful today. Some massive balls ups.
- blatant pen on Pratley.
- no touch for their goal. Watch the highlights, he just stand there not knowing what to do. Doesn’t point for the goal, doesn’t blow his whistle, just stands there motionless. Be interesting to see who the goal is given to…
- blatant foul by Ball on their player 5 seconds before the foul on Simpson from which we equalise.
- allowing subs to be made whilst waiting for the penalty. Never seen anything like that in 40 years of watching football.
- the offside against Omar. Literally no idea how the clowns have come to that decision.
Of all the sh*t refs we’ve ever had, this clown is right up there.

How was that penalty not retaken for encroachment? The Oldham number 14 is basically standing next to Agyei when he strikes the ball and the reaction of number 2 (not celebrating and looking directly at the ref) suggests that he thought it was going to be pulled back as well.

One of our players had also massively encroached.

Just been reading the Oldham forum.
They think the Ref lost them the game for playing over 8 minutes of added time, Absolute wallys

I completely agree . The Oldham player had both his arms are Pratley and threw him to the ground . How on earth is that not a penalty ?

They shouldn't have wasted so much time with delaying tactics. How many times have we seen a team holding onto a lead, delaying things and then conceding in the last minute or so. Oh, wait a minute the Os do that.

Would love an explanation of how Beckles was offside with an Oldham player on the touchline wide of goal.
And the Oldham goal undoubtedly doesn’t touch their forward.

Has Hemmings let in a worse goal than the Oldham one today?

The ones he passed straight to the opposition striker at start of the season I'd say were worse

Not keepers fault, if that’s what you’re implying.
The defender - Simpson? - ducked out of the header last minute. Idiotic.

You're kidding me, it was as much awful goalkeeping as it was awful defending.
1. It shouldn't have gone past him at the near post
2. He should have run to get the ball to place it for a goalkick to at least give the ref something to think about

Definitely. IMO the ref didn't know what had happened and gave the goal because of the celebrations by the Oldham players. If our players had objected as strongly, he may have had second thoughts; consulted the lino and eventually not allowed the goal.

1. Nah. You can’t really see on that angle but I was right in line with it and the defender pulled his head last second. Keeley had no chance.
2. Fair. Ref shouldn’t be influenced that easily but yeah, if he’d acted quickly like that it may have resulted in a different outcome.

That headed goal was a thing of beauty...just about the only highlight of a poor but compelling game

Probably one of the worst Refereeing performances in recent years, but I suppose in weird way added to the ‘entertainment’.
Pratley was Rugby tackled early on and these Refs just choose ‘not to see it’.
He had no idea what happened with the Oldham goal, but just went along with the Oldham players celebrating.
Re allowing substitutes when a penalty has been given and delaying the kick, don’t think I’ve ever seen that before and it certainly didn’t help Agyei………Any Refs on here who know if that is allowed ??

And allowing the encroachment at the penalty by their 14 who was nearly level with Agyei when he took it !

Keeley said it came off his shoulder
If only our regular strikers were blessed with that kind of luck.

My brother said he heard on the radio that Keeley is the first Orient keeper in our history to ever score . Is that right ? If so Josh will be forever in the Orient history books
