Perfect storm
The 2 best wide players most likely out for the rest of the season.
Loan players, in most cases, not up to the task.
Manager who can't seem to get his substitutions right, won't admit to mistakes and looks increasingly deluded.
The most influential midfielder not properly replaced.
Key midfielder now nearly 40 years old.
Team still unable to adequately deal with set pieces.
Forwards struggling to hit the back of the net.
Squad strength weak - some (many?) not up to league 1 standard.
Coaching team seemingly struggling to improve things.
There's probably other things but add all that together and it doesn't look promising...

Re: Perfect storm
Some good points, but Ritchie is part of the solution, not the problem.
He is a very capable manager and if anyone can get us out of the shi5te it’s Ritchie. He deserves our support.

Re: Perfect storm
Signing Hemming - totally different season if we’d have beaten Bolton and/or Brum.

Agreed, but was trying to retain a modicum of positivity (cos there's little to be had generally at the moment).

Re: Perfect storm
Yes, agreed, a win tomorrow and then drawing Man Utd away in R3 would help the financial situation.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 10:06 am A good cup run is what is required to boost morale in the confines of E10…
Not that tomorrow is gonna be easy, they are in 4th and won 4-0 on Tuesday.

Re: Perfect storm
Tomorrow is worth £75000 in prize money, plus the chance of a draw against a big team in round three. From the money angle probably our biggest game of the season.
