I ruptured my ACL when I was playing football in around 1969, I was 21 at the time. In those times there was not that much in the way of operations for that injury. He did his best but it was 22 years too late and the damage to the joint had been done. In March this year I ended up having to have a full knee replacement. I hope your own knee injury improves as time goes on.
It was a very traumatic injury that changed my life. Of course being as you have read me mention it before, you can always just skip reading my comments. An accident that happens in seconds and stops with you for life. Years ago it was a career ending injury, e,g finished off Brian Clough when he was only 27 years old when he tore the medial and cruciate ligaments in his knee, an injury which in that era usually ended a player's career. He returned two years later, but could manage only three games and then retired from playing at the age of 29. I also hope the club can find a role for Theo.
I can recommend the Royal Orthopedic hospital at Stanmore for knee problems. Being as Theo had no ACL which helps stabilize the knee amazing that Theo could play football at all ?

I can recommend the Royal Orthopedic hospital at Stanmore for knee problems. That is the hospital where I had my knee replacement done.
Under the NHS rules you can ask to go to hospitals of your choice. The doctors will tend to send you to a local hospital but its worth asking to see if its possible to get treatment there, I had this problem for over 50 years, hate operations and wanted to give myself as good a chance as possible. The Royal Orthopedic is a specialist hospital and I was very pleased with the treatment I got. I had knee replacement at that hospital, dont know if they also do ACL operations ?
