Why do I not enjoy Wellens interviews anymore?
Sounds like he has a real chip on his shoulder lolno positivity doom and gloom can’t even manage a smile anymore even when we win 3-0.

He’s employing reverse psychology, says we won’t make the playoffs this year, hoping to incentivise the players to prove him wrong !
Tbf us fans be happy to avoid the drop this season.
I love RW’s interviews, think they are brilliant, especially when he goes off on one. 100% right re internationals, other than World Cup/euros they are boring and current rules re int breaks at our level are farcical, damaging and costly.

Great interview as always!
Moaning about the fans moaning about his subs, moaning about international breaks, moaning about etc etc.
Love it.

I still have trouble with his accent and hearing/understanding all that he says

I like that he’s a bit salty.
If he managed an opposition team, I’d hate him.
But he’s the sort of bloke you want in the trenches with you.

Seriously? Struggle to believe anyone genuinely has an issue interpreting a fairly standard Mancunian twang.

Yes, but you do understand, of course, that we're not all the same..i don't think it would be a question of anyone having an 'issue'.

Loved the way he dug out the fans in that interview, personally. Or at least the implied digs at his critics. He’s totally earned the right to do that.

I also love his interviews . Wears his heart on his sleeve and gives it to us straight . I wouldn't want him to be any other way . Look, we all knew this would be a tough season because of the resources other clubs had . The money that was flying about in League One during the summer was ridiculous . I mean, Birmingham paying £10million at our level for Stansfield is mind boggling . So with that in mind all I want from this season is we don't get relegated . The main reason why I'm confident we'll achieve that is because we have Richie Wellens .

I think he’s probably — and perhaps rightly — feeling a bit defensive. Don’t think our position in the table reflects what he’s capable of as a manager, and he knows it, and getting stick for it must rankle.
I reckon we’re lucky to have him

Love it. Refreshing. No boring bureaucratic common stuff thanks. Hear a bit of raw passion.
Yeah I can’t believe he isn’t still believing in playoffs.
Agree about internationals.

We are exceptionally lucky to have in my view bearing in mind the appalling budget and players he is expected to achieve with.I truly believe that unless RW gets a a massive boost in budget from the January transfer window onwards to achieve his and the supporters ambitions he will be gone and I wouldn’t blame him.

He's always said he'll go when he can take us no further, but he knew when he joined that Orient probably had a ceiling (fighting for League 1 playoffs), unless huge investment came into the club - and every week he's interviewed he seems to be laying the groundwork for that exit. I really do sense the frustration but if we can get some back to back results together things could start to look rosy again - the league is so tight still.
He's talked about how difficult the league is this year every week etc, it is - it did seem at one points we had a run of consecutive games against all of the form teams - but time and time again there are squads that surprise the big boys. And it's usually drive, togetherness (We've had so many new faces come in that it will always take time) - clever set pieces or sheer physicality that get you that. The team is good enough to be competitive in every game, he's said that himself about the performances v Wrexham and Brum etc. He and the coaching staff need to work on how we find those extra margins to turn those performances into results and suddenly the whole atmosphere around the club lifts - and investment is more likely. Saturdays performance was encouraging - players like O'Neil were running at people, Agyei was bullying defenders. We were more direct. The goals came from balls forward rather than slowly passing the ball around on the deck from side to side. It will get fans back, ticket receipts up etc. The whole mood for a season could change in Jan with one shrewd signing - a Smyth type player. I hope he puts his all into this season - we have to stay up or we lose all the momentum of the past 6 years.
I know he's had trouble with schooling options for his daughter, and so he probably isn't 100% happy in Essex. I hope that gets resolved, I hope the club helps him to get it resolved. You can't give your all at work when things like that are happening.

Have you ever spoken to anyone outside of London or the Home Counties?
