No thanks.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:06 pm Maybe someone heard Stephen Dawson’s interview and offered him a contact.
Much needed. Hopefully someone that is genuinely different to what we have and an upgrade over what we have.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 7:56 pm In his interview with Dave Victor, Ross said a midfielder is coming in early next week

He hardly played.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:08 pm Didn’t he captain Bury to promotion from this league last year?
Fair enough but we've been crying out of a Stephen Dawson / Vinelot type midfielder for ages now so please God he's a central midfielder like one of those.Byways1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:07 pmNo thanks.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:06 pm Maybe someone heard Stephen Dawson’s interview and offered him a contact.
Legs gone.

Yep, exactly. Also needs to be an upgrade to the starting XI and not just squad filler.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:15 pmFair enough but we've been crying out of a Stephen Dawson / Vinelot type midfielder for ages now so please God he's a central midfielder like one of those.Byways1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:07 pmNo thanks.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:06 pm Maybe someone heard Stephen Dawson’s interview and offered him a contact.

This is orient. If it’s all three of those I will eat my hat.Byways1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:19 pmWell let’s hope so.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:15 pmFair enough but we've been crying out of a Stephen Dawson / Vinelot type midfielder for ages now so please God. he's a central midfielder like either of those.
It’s important that we don’t panic and bring anybody in.
He must be an improvement and be the right age and 100% fit.
There is no use bringing someone who doesn’t tick all those boxes.Beradogs wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:24 pmThis is orient. If it’s all three of those I will eat my hat.Byways1 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:19 pmWell let’s hope so.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:15 pm

You can’t keep relying on a player in he’s late 30s.
Being negative again young Gerald???
I said this about Jobi months ago on here and was howled down by the usual MB banshees. The whole scenario makes our inaction in not signing a mid earlier absolute madness. Nothing has changed from six weeks ago, so why are Ling et al only considering recruitment now?eagwgw wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:33 pm Perhaps this might mean Jobi's role in the playing side may be even more limited than what was projected before.
I pray we don't get this one wrong. Two years ago even Steve Davis was wanting an enforcer midfielder, but we stubbornly thought we could make the tactics work by just bringing in a superior passing midfielder.
I do feel that all fans are pretty much on the same page as to what midfielder is required, and that if we get him there will be an immediate improvement.
Gut feeling is that we might try manfully for a few more months to make this formation work, but Ling, Widdowson, Judd or Turley are never going to be effective wing-backs which puts a bit of a limit on the effectiveness of it all.
Considering the injuries Stevenage had I think it's unlikely we'll play a weaker side this season, and if we can't break them down I'd think that many games against the better sides will be simply like what we had against Plymouth.
Dunno what the relevance of a player in a good league one team is.O my gawd wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:59 pmBeing negative again young Gerald???
Instead of writing not another 19 year old Brentford player, why can't you write hope he's another Ebou Adams.
Interesting to note today that 19 year old Zain Westbrooke played 90 minutes in a 2-0 for Coventry today as they went 4th in League 1. Maybe just maybe the people at the club do actually know what they are doing rather than us Laptop Football Managers
Also the Westbrooke of nearly two years ago was clearly a different prospect to the Westbrooke of today. You can't say that because a player is more well rounded and better developed player now that he was actually suitable for us nearly two years ago.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 9:04 pmDunno what the relevance of a player in a good league one team is.O my gawd wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:59 pmBeing negative again young Gerald???

Not only is the National League an aggressive and physical league but we also needed a ball winner in that league and we got zain. I’m sure he’s a good player in league one.
Why don't you ask KT and NT. They may have a job for you.Disoriented wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 9:03 pmI said this about Jobi months ago on here and was howled down by the usual MB banshees.
