I reckon they've turned up the volume of the announcments on the tube too, because they know most people have their ears stuffed. And then you get people just walking around with them on, as if they would not be able to tolerate the outside world or real life. We've turned into a planet of zombies.

People still do that, which I guess is another argument for headphones

Currently playing football manager. Usually watching something gaming.

I do occassionally wear headphones during these activities, but not on the street, the platform or between stations etc, its a bit much.

Seems similar to me. I have to go to London 2-3 times a week for work and get in and out asap.
I'm not sure if the air of general indifference and non-bonhomie towards others is exclusive to London, or any big city. Probably the latter. I suppose first and foremost, people are just trying to 'survive', what with exhorbitant rents and property prices etc.

However, I do find if you approach someone and ask for something or just make general chitter-chatter people are usually pretty friendly. Some aren't but you get rude w******* everywhere, not just London..
