By coincidence with your post I was at Braintree vs Bishops Stortford on Saturday, bloody awful game that Braintree sneaked due to a scrappy early goal. I sat in the stand and about 10 minutes before kick off a guy came and asked if the seat next to me was free - it was . He was scouting for Ipswich and asked me if Braintree were at full strength said I wasn't too sure as I normally go to the O's. He said Oh OK that's my team all our family are O's. We then had 2 hours of mainly Orient related chat, he was an apprentice at the O's in the 1970's but never got any further but has worked at a lot of clubs as a coach and it became obvious that was the case as we chatted as he knew a lot of the staff who were there at the O's at that time and afterwards and did some coaching for Patsy Holland at Spurs, we had a chat about Len Cheesewright who he said was a really nice bloke and highly thought of and brought a lot of really good young players into the O's
The scout was a really nice bloke and chatting with him made the time pass a lot quicker as the game was really grim.
Braintree ended up with 3 on the bench they included the goalkeeping coach Michael Brothers - Yep good move for Castle as Stortford are potentially a bigger club than Royston. Didn’t realise until just now that Steve Castle was now manager at Bishops Stortford.

I would back Castle to get them up in the next couple of seasons.
